Tsunoda: "There is still lots of work to do for tomorrow"

Having struggled for balance in his sole one-hour practice session, Red Bull driver Yuki Tsunoda conceded that "there is still lots of work to do for tomorrow.'

Red Bull looked to struggle in the opening session, with Max Verstappen running the new floor on his RB21. The Dutchman was left unhappy with many aspects of his car, calling it “unbelievable” on the radio.

His team-mate Yuki Tsunoda sat out the opening session as Red Bull's F2 driver Arvid Lindblad piloted his car in the opening one-hour session, making his F1 debut at a race weekend. The British driver delivered a tidy performance, having set a 1m27.958s which was good enough for P14 on the leaderboard.

Verstappen looked to be in better shape in the second session at the British Grand Prix. Alongside the Ferrari duo of Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc, Verstappen was the only front-runner to find more time on his second push lap on Pirelli's soft tyres to end up fifth in FP2.

Tsunoda returned to action in FP2, but he looked to struggle for outright pace behind the wheel of his RB21. However, he hopes that he can 'adapt to put it all together" over the rest of the Silverstone weekend.

“The car feels ok, there is still lots of work to do for tomorrow, but I am enjoying Silverstone. Last weekend the car felt good and was one of the best feelings I had had in the car until the race and the pace was getting there so it’s about fine tuning now.

"There are a couple of differences across the two cars and some comparisons, so let’s see how we can adapt to put it all together for the rest of the weekend.

"The cooler temperatures might help us tomorrow, it won’t be easy but at least it seems like the weather won’t be up and down, but you never know in the UK!

"I have only had one free practice session, but I already know a couple of things I could improve in my driving and set-up, we just have to optimise it now.”
