“I've been very poor,” claims Leclerc after tough qualifying day at Zandvoort

Having only qualified sixth for Sunday’s Dutch Grand Prix, Ferrari driver Charles Leclec branded his performance behind the wheel of his SF25 as “very poor”.
Ferrari has endured a tough weekend so far at Zandvoort. The Scuderia struggled for overall grip on a track that exposes its SF25’s weaknesses.
Despite some promising runs on Pirelli’s medium tyres in the third and final practice, Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton were on the verge of getting knocked out in Q1. The Briton and Monegasque then got their act together and salvages Ferrari’s day with a sixth and seventh qualifying position.
Reflecting on his performance in qualifying, Leclerc noted: “It’s been a difficult weekend overall, which makes it tough to build up to the race in the way we want to. The balance of the car makes it tricky to drive and I didn’t put it all together in qualifying.
“It’s just that kind of weekend for us, but we may be able to play with strategy tomorrow. We’ll do everything we can to fight our way forward and bring home a good result for the team."
Speaking to Sky Sports, Leclerc added: “I'm very disappointed with myself, to be honest. I haven't done the job today and I've been very poor.
“The whole weekend has been a little bit on the backfoot on my side. I've been trying to change and to chase something that maybe wasn't in the car this weekend for one reason or another.
“We were losing a lot of lap time in two, three corners. I guess that kind of stayed the same during qualifying. Not to an extreme extent as much as in free practice but still we were losing,” concluded the Monegasque.
