Repsol will return to a major role in the MotoGP paddock from 2026 after agreeing a new partnership that will see the Spanish energy company become the official lubricant supplier to the Moto2 and Moto3 classes.

The deal also includes title sponsorship of one MotoGP Grand Prix each season, along with a strong trackside presence throughout the calendar.

The agreement marks a significant expansion of Repsol’s involvement in motorcycle racing. As the exclusive lubricant supplier for Moto2 and Moto3, the company will test its products under the most demanding conditions possible: real‑world competition.

MotoGP’s intense environment—where performance, reliability, and innovation are measured in milliseconds—will allow Repsol to refine the technology that ultimately reaches its commercial products.

Repsol Lubricants brings a wide portfolio of products developed at the Repsol Technology Lab, one of Europe’s most advanced private research centres. The facility employs around 230 researchers and scientists and is equipped with cutting‑edge development tools.

Following the new agreement, Repsol will launch a fresh range of competition‑focused lubricants, reinforcing its commitment to offering high‑performance solutions for all types of motorcycles, from racing machines to everyday road bikes.

The announcement also marks a symbolic return for a brand that has played a defining role in MotoGP for more than half a century. Repsol’s 30‑year partnership with the Repsol Honda Team remains one of the most successful alliances in the sport’s history, producing multiple world championships and becoming one of MotoGP’s most recognisable liveries.

"From 2026 onward, the company will once again take on a central role in the paddock as a supplier, sponsor, and visible presence across the season.

Clara Velasco, Director of Repsol Lubricants, said the agreement represents a major milestone for the company. “This new partnership with MotoGP represents a significant step in our global growth strategy.

"We are excited to return to the sport and to be able to demonstrate the quality and performance of our lubricants in such a demanding environment. This agreement allows us to continue innovating and improving our products to offer the best to our customers.”

Valero Marín, General Manager of Customers at Repsol, emphasised the emotional and technical significance of the partnership. “At Repsol, engines have always been part of our DNA, and will continue to be so.

"At Repsol Lubricants, in line with Repsol's global evolution, this partnership and sponsorship allows us to connect with our customers from a more authentic, more emotional place, without losing the technical reputation we are known for. We want to come along for the ride, ensuring every kilometer is traveled without friction, with confidence, and with purpose.”

Dorna Sports Chief Commercial Officer Dan Rossomondo welcomed Repsol’s expanded role in the championship. “Fans who already love MotoGP will know Repsol from its reputation in the sport for excellence and success, so we’re proud to see Repsol return.

"We know that as a lubricant supplier to Moto2 and Moto3, the riders and teams will be supplied with top-quality technology, and it is great news to see the brand take title sponsorship of a Grand Prix and put their name trackside.

"As MotoGP continues its trajectory of impressive growth, there is no better time to welcome Repsol as an official partner and write a new chapter together.”
