Verstappen to test for Jordan

Dutch driver Jos Verstappen will be testing a Jordan next month, after he had a seat fitting in the English team's factory today. Eddie Jordan himself told he was happy to give the Dutchman "some attention" after he failed to secure a contract for 2004.

Rumours had circulated around April that Jos would get a seat in the race squad, after he and Trust joined again. Both had a bit of a rift after some difficulties between main sponsor Trust, and Jos' manager.

The yellow team were however quick to dispel such gossip confirming both men until the conclusion of the season.

News that Verstappen will now test for the team added new life to the speculation but manager Raymond Vermeulen, was quick to warn that people should not to "jump to any conclusions".

Eddie Jordan on the other hand had the following to say:

"I think it is fantastic that this test will offer Jos some attention in Formula One," he said. "I believe Jos has a future in Formula One and I hope that this test will be positive and helpful in some way with regards to that future."

Verstappen said he did not know what to expect but was happy to be getting back in a Formula One car.

"We will see at the beginning of June. If everything goes as planned I will be testing for the whole day at Silverstone. I am happy that I will be able to drive again and I will also see Eddie Jordan again, as it's been some time since I had direct contact with him," the 32-year old said.
