Renault aware of R24 problems

Both Bob Bell and Pat Symonds have recently expressed that there are still some problems with the R24. It cannot be denied that the car has great potential, but the problem is to get it all out of it. The car is more complicated and harder to drive that its predecessor.

First, Bob Bell insisted the car is good, but is a pain to drive and find the right setups for. "We are improving the handling, but we've got to transform that into a concrete development."

Symonds on the other hand told Autosport: "We haven't got everything sorted out yet. "We're very, very aware that we need more performance."

The executive engineer said he studied in-car footage of Jenson Button's BAR-Honda after the Spanish GP and noted that it is a 'nice, easy car to drive. He explained: "It's the exact opposite of the problem we're chasing."
