We are in Formula One to win - Heidfeld

From Nick Heidfeld's point of view, the improved team structure represents the main reason for the BMW Sauber F1 Team's extraordinarily successful 2007 season. "It was vital that the full vigour of the team was available for the first time, this season," says the German, who finished fifth in the 2007 championship, thus celebrating the best Formula One World Championship result in his career to date.

"It's true, we were the BMW Sauber F1 Team in the previous season, but back then everything was very fresh," adds Heidfeld. "This year, however, everything had its effect: the new car, the new employees and the new wind tunnel."

Well aware of the ongoing development, the team's highly-experienced driver begins the preparations for the 2008 season in an optimistic mood. "In most areas we need to make just minor steps," he says. "This year, we lost too many points due to a lack of reliability but apart from that, there is virtually no area where I see a major backlog. We are in Formula One to win."
