I cannot be more happy than I am now - Alonso
It was an emotional day for Fernando Alonso today at the Circuit de Catalunya. The Renault driver didn't expect that his team would be so strong and competitive during his home GP weekend. In this afternoon's qualifying session, only Kimi Raikkonen was faster than Alonso.
After the qualifying session in front of thousands of fans, Fernando Alonso said: "I think it was very exciting when I crossed the line because I knew the time was good. I knew that only Kimi was running behind so when I crossed the line I knew it was front row in the worst case, so that is something we didn't expect at all, not in this race or maybe during the whole season, so I cannot be more happy than I am now."
