Alonso and Santander to Ferrari in 2009?

The silly season continues as Fernando Alonso has once again been linked with Ferrari. Not only Alonso would move to the Italian team, but also one of the major sponsors of McLaren: the Spanish bank Santander.

This is reported by the German newspaper 'Bild'. The deal between Santander and Ferrari would be worth up to €25 million per season and would involve a transfer of Fernando Alonso to the red squad.

This new speculation comes after a dreadful weekend for the Scuderia Ferrari. With Felipe Massa spinning at least five times during the British Grand Prix and only finishing 13th and last. Although both Raikkonen and Massa have a contract for 2009, it appears that the Brazilian driver might be replaced by Spanish double World Champion Alonso.
