Hamilton defended poorly with the first overtake, way too little too late there.
What exactly do you think he should have done with a depleted battery, and thus substantially reduced power/top speed?

IMO, The speed delta was huge and their was nothing Lewis could have done that wasn't illegal.
Do exactly what Max would have done, block dat ass. Don't make an half hearted late move like that, show him who's boss.

Think Mexico wasn't gonna be easy if Max hadn't thrown it away. They were there though.

Max won Mexico pole 0.3 by a convincing margin far bigger than margin in Brazil and also high altitude would have been advantageous to Rbr.racepace in Mexico according the great Marko was 2 seconds per lap so victory was on the card.

I think Hamilton couldn't pass Gasly because Mercedes chassis has more downforce and drag.
I think Toro Rosso was the only team with a spoon rear wing.

The question we need to ask, is the Red Bull car actually that good or is Max performing miracles in it? Both of his teammates have basically been destroyed in qualifying and race pace so far.

A driver can only extract what is there. The car has high potential. It may be difficult to extract, but it is there.

Yeah I get you but thus far only Max can find it's potential and he's doing this week in week out. His speed this year has been relentless.

Horner did mention this years car is difficult to drive and that's one of the reasons why Gasly didn't perform like he is in the Torro Rosso.

Exactly this. People keep talking about drivers out driving their cars, getting them higher up the grid than the car should go etc., but the reality is that the driver can't do anymore than the car can do. All the driver can do is closer to the maximum than another driver.

Max isn't performing miracles, he's just outperforming his team mates, that's it.

That was throw away attempt part 1.

part 2 was, I'll say it politically correct, contact with Hamilton.

I think there was also a part 3 to that.... but I don't remember.

Hamilton and Verstappen collision in Mexico was a racing incident. As was his clash with Leclerc in Suzuka, and the broken suspension in Spa. He also got robbed of a podium in Silverstone.

So Silverstone, Spa, Suzuka, and Mexico were all races he could have finished on the podium. Oh well next year he'll get his 5 wins.

Spain Monaco Silverstone Suzuka and COTA next year, it'll be so close that the other drivers will take points away from each other and those wins will be enough for the title.
