As I’ve stated before, I think it’s a moot point as to whether Max could have damaged it.
He’s on camera breaking the sporting rules and touching the very part in question.
I'm pretty sure they could tell right away if it was bended by a human.dans79 wrote: ↑13 Nov 2021, 03:33As I said before, these are F1 cars, they are only designed to handle loads under the conditions they would normally be subjected to, no more, no less.pantherxxx wrote: ↑13 Nov 2021, 03:30It would have been impossible for Max to change the wing like that just by touching it for a few seconds. If that's the case it's a DSQ.
could be why they are calling max in!pantherxxx wrote: ↑13 Nov 2021, 03:37I'm pretty sure they could tell right away if it was bended by a human.dans79 wrote: ↑13 Nov 2021, 03:33As I said before, these are F1 cars, they are only designed to handle loads under the conditions they would normally be subjected to, no more, no less.pantherxxx wrote: ↑13 Nov 2021, 03:30It would have been impossible for Max to change the wing like that just by touching it for a few seconds. The driver is allowed to touch their own car, even under the provisions of 2.5. They sort of have to, to get out of the thing.
Their car didn't fail to pass scrutineering after Vettel touched it.pantherxxx wrote: ↑13 Nov 2021, 03:40Merc likely trying to argue Max broke sporting code by touching the car. Odd that they never complained those times Seb put his boot on their rear wheel then... Etc.... This is stupid...
They didn't call Max to the principal's office, the stewards did!
Even if Verstappen broke some rule, which is bs, because Vettel touched other cars before and there was no punishment or anything, but let's say he broke a rule.
It is still parc ferme until the officials say it's not, as post race scrutineering is also a thing.AeroDynamic wrote: ↑13 Nov 2021, 03:19I remember Vettel inspecting Bottas’ car post race. He used his foot to move the Mercedes forward to check the blister in the tyre. It’s no longer in parc ferme post race is it?zibby43 wrote: ↑13 Nov 2021, 03:18I have never seen VET touch another car. Only look. At least from my memory.Vaexa wrote: ↑13 Nov 2021, 03:16Aren't there multiple instances (on video!) of Vettel touching competitors' cars with absolutely no consequences?
I feel like Mercedes would be *really* grasping at straws trying to get Verstappen involved here, so I don't think the decision being postponed until tomorrow has anything to do with this.
If he does take an entire PU, then the ICE he took today would be dropped from the pool, by rule.holeindalip wrote: ↑13 Nov 2021, 03:45Surely if Hamilton is penalized, they would take an all new power unit instead of just the ice?
