The same area that when stuck open on another car a couple of years ago a mechanic was able to accidentally pull off when trying to make it shut? That part?markoc wrote: ↑13 Nov 2021, 15:11I think only real possibility is that Ham will have to take the penalty. Everything else is a joke. I don't like it because I wanted these two to decide it in the final race but if the wing failed the test it failed it.
There is no chance that they can get out of it with the talk Max touched the part. This is the part that takes several thousand Newtons of force during run, plus the enormous vibrations. I would be surprised if it failed if Max was jumping on top of it. Only question is if Max will get the punishment and how much for checking the car (since we saw that touching is not forbidden by the regs in one of the previous posts).
Max the superman Verstappen. Touched a wing with his fingers and widened the wing....something that 300+ kmh aero load cant do, but Max did.
You quote above that 'the gap should be 85mm max' .... why does that rule only apply to Max.
If no one knows this happened, you cannot penalise Max
we can't know for sure if he changed it or not, can you prove it? we are talking about milimeters here.
The rule does not say that. The rule in question has been posted in this thread several times.Ozan wrote: ↑13 Nov 2021, 15:22we can't know for sure if he changed it or not, can you prove it? we are talking about milimeters here.
The rules says you can't touch the car, if you touch it then it's against the rules.
This is worded well below.
People who know little bit of F1 technology, know how sturdy the car parts are and force they withstand. To then make all the silly comments about a rear wing being tampered by mere, human fingers (if at all), shows people either don't understand F1 or don't want to go beyond a fan boy perspective.

Yet Vettel has never been penalized for touching his own and other cars many times. Maybe it's because the rules do not state literally that you cannot touch it.Ozan wrote: ↑13 Nov 2021, 15:22we can't know for sure if he changed it or not, can you prove it? we are talking about milimeters here.

If he managed to do anything, than Mercedes should withdraw out of the race, since the car is in such a bad state that touching it changes the tolerances and settings. Like i said before. If it bothers FIA so much, they should put Max in the back and ban Mercedes for the rest of race weekend.Ozan wrote: ↑13 Nov 2021, 15:22we can't know for sure if he changed it or not, can you prove it? we are talking about milimeters here.
