Alpha Tauri AT03

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

The undercut is actually bigger than RedBull's?

Only in this form. When RB18 goes SSJ2, it will look much different.😏

I'm struggling to see what is what - it appears that they have a downstand across between the strakes. And the strakes aren't the ones that stick out of the front of the floor entry. Or are they? And is there some general damage that's disorienting the various components?
If you are more fortunate than others, build a larger table not a taller fence.

I'm not sure, but the side outwash from that setup seems like it would be mammoth!!

This outwash was there on the previous regs floors too. That how you maximize the peak suction at the splitter. Then after that the air travels rearward to another suction peak at the diffuser.

When you look at that strake set-up, the tunnel entry is incredibly narrow; it looks like a recipe for choking the underfloor flow. It could just be the angle of the shot, though?

You're right, there's no getting around that these strakes can only get closer to the road as ride height reduces. It's as though 3/4 of the flow into the tunnels is then forced out the side of the floor, rather than passing through the tunnel itself.
