Interesting vortex generator
That looks like it's just not finished being assembled.

I wonder if it's legal to widen that 'tunnel' (purple) and shape it like a wing (like March 701 sidepods).
So if you cut the car along the green line, you get that shape (black)
This solution would guarantee you the titles for 10 seasons at least, obviously, but is it legal?

Should be feasible, the regulations state a minimum concave radius dimension but nothing about undercuts.
i. Outboard of Y=25 the radius of curvature of any such section must not be less than 75mm if convex, or 50mm if concave, with the exception of a rectangular region bounded in plan view by (XC=20, 125) and (XC=150, 375) where the radius of curvature must not be less than 25mm.
Just need to make sure the valley flares outward in all directions as it traverses rearward so that any "normal to the external surface" does not have a negative x plane value. Basically, flare the tunnel out like a trumpet.
d. Rearward of XR = -300 and prior to the addition of any apertures, the X component of any normal to the external surface must not be negative.

It's an "extreme" interpretation around the flap adjuster.

It's not, but that won't stop people thinking it's some odd update, rather than just using their eyes to see that it's clearly missing a massive piece of the wing.

It's missing the entire upper flap element, mate.

The sticky outie bits you are looking at are for the adjustable upper front wing flap element, which is not currently mounted.

Yes the adjustable flap is just missing

And the mechanics use these pre-set guns to adjust it

I'll add, I believe this is why the valley on the Ferrari sidepod washes out at the rear. They couldn't turn it along the coke bottle or do much else with it, per these regs. That's also why the bulge on the Alpine sidepod runs roughly parallel to vehicle centerline.

Re: Alpine A522

This susp comparison illustrates the different aero philosophies well. A522 has v. narrow & swept back top wishbones (yellow), while the lower triangle does the opposite to counterbalance that, & both triangles seem 2 be designed 2 let as much downwash flow pass from top 2 bottom.
The whole rear bodywork (sidepod top, rollhoop top, bulbous 'tunnels) of A522A seem 2 be designed 2 pull as much air from top 2 bottom towards the rear DF-producers*, so logically the susp arms comply with that, while F-75 probably rely more on lateral flow & coke bottle flow, for its diffuser, beam, rear wheel winglets etc... and uses its sidpeod top obviously differently (to generate local DF id I understood Vanja #66 well)
So an inverted bottom wishbone (green) rear suspension like the Ferrari or Merc wouldnt be necessarily useful for the Alpine 22 philosophy. (pic = Imola)

The new max DF beam wing (V3.5?) vs V2 (which is very similar to V3 in shape)
This also shows how Alpine modified its tunnels. They used to have a double throat/kick. But the new version (Silverstone) has more & smoother 'kicks', atleast near the 'boat' #fillet, & they look higher..

As you see, the FOM model (2021) has one kick, the diffuser one...
Maybe Alpine wants to spread the suction on a larger area & push it forward... or is it related to proposing?

No louvers in the valley this race, and fewer 'cannon' louvers.
