I see "visionary expertise", "visionary guidance", "corporate strategy expertise", "leadership", "help us..."

No money?

Oh, and "challenge."

I don't recall seeing so many doubts about the finances of other new teams when they were first starting out? Why USF1?

You could say that the history of the great majority of start-up teams bears this sort of skepticism, but why start now with USF1? Especially with two other new teams entering next year (remembering that Spyker also had racing heritage).

It's just interesting is all.

Because of all the hot-air, so far without much evidence, coming from Windsor and SpeedTV from day one.

Some things were simply not true, such as Ken Andersons CV on the USF1 web-site, claiming he designed and built the Charlotte windtunnel.

Because no one even bothered starting a thread about Manor or Campos, that's how much people care about them.

wtf does that even mean?!? x is on them because nothing out of them has really sounded like a team ready to compete at all. "We've got CAD files" and "We're friends with Chad Hurley" isn't going to staff a team or build a car. Somewhat ironically they don't have a website either. They do have an unofficial Facebook page, right now the poll is "Will USGPE be able to put a car on the track in November?"

Right on the money Jon. But with Chad Hurley on board he should be able to help them with a decent web-site at least?

The original one, while it lasted, was pathetically amateurish for a Formula One team.

Ferrari's F1 website was terrible until last year. BrawnGP's site earlier this season looked like Craigslist. Williams, on the other hand, has an amazing website.

Point being, I don't think a website is a good measure of a team.

And I have no doubt that the team principles of Manor and Campos are doing just as much shameless self-motion as Peter Windsor. Their microphones simply aren't as big.

It's a team principle's job to ensure the best interests of his team, and that includes promotion. I imagine that aspect of the job is even more important for a new team.

And perhaps I'm wrong, but I didn't read anything that would make me think that USF1 and Chad Hurley have merely started a friendship. Somehow the words major and investor lead me in a different direction.

I just don't understand all the skepticism of USF1. That's all. It's interesting.

Ferrari had a few decent seasons up to last year...all the while, their website was a mess. Brawn was winning while their website was garbage. Williams isn't winning, and their site is good.

Guys, I think the only conclusion we can draw from this, and an accurate one at that, is that teams with awful websites turn out to be a force to be reckoned with.

I fully expect USGP to win at least the first 4 races of the season.

With that hypothesis FOZ, the original USF1 web-site should guarantee them to walk away with the entire season.

I never expected any less, from day 1. Yes, it's an xpensive operation to run a new F1 team, but WE CAN DO IT!

What if Obama could be persuaded this activity will enhance renewable-energy developments, to throw a shitload of money at it?

Xpensive, you mean just like he's been doing with the economy in general since he took office?

I hear if you bring in a turbo-era car they'll give you $4500 towards your next one.

At least they have the PR-speak down already. Not that they'll actually make a press conference to show it off, at this rate. But hey, talking the talk is half the job, right?

But seriously now, what I hear is that the Euskadi operation's F1-bid is in reality none less than Penske.

Now that is an Amarican outfit I would hold in immediate respect.

This is one of the things that's really paradoxical about it. This season I've had two friends that don't follow F1 ask me about it. One heard about McLaren's legal troubles at the beginning of the year on NPR (National Public Radio) and asked me what had happened. Why NPR thought it was so important I have no idea. The other saw poor old Felipe's accident on SportsCenter and news about Schumacher's expected return. No one I know that doesn't follow F1 is aware of USGPE.

Have you guys had the same experience?
