Wait, wait...

Is it possible for a black hole to suck so hard, it sucks itself into itself?
If Piquet Snr gets involved then we may create the first instance of it
The second. In fact the first one caused the Big-Bang.

Schu just lost his points and a for him useless second place in the Championship, he was allowed to keep his victories.

There was no race-ban for 1998.

and those other victories were legit
so why should they strip that??
and why would they need to ban him for 1998??

and was Mclaren stripped of their victories in 2007? it would be more appropriate to strip Mclaren's other victories than Schumy's , as Mclaren got them with knowledge of other car's IP.

Well, if I were considering a re-sign of a Renault engine contract, as is RB, I might be influenced by this investigation because one could imagine a guilty verdict resulting in Renault withdrawing from F1 all together.

If race fixing can be prooven they should loose all points and get a penalty of twice what they earned in FOM money. Alonso must give the cup to Nico and apologise for cheating.
Formula One's fundamental ethos is about success coming to those with the most ingenious engineering and best .............................. organization, not to those with the biggest budget. (Dave Richards)

I doubt very much that Briatore be stupid enough to pull a trick like that, the year after McLaren 100 MUSD fine?

But I would not be surprised if it was Piquet Sr behind this horse-story, he was a master manipulator in his day.

They say his only friend in the pit-lane was Niki Lauda, which tells us something, no?

Racing should be decided on the track, not the court room.

I agree with DK, if true this could be just as big as Stephenygate with just as big a consequence for the offending team and rightly so, it makes a mockery of F1 if people can cheat and get away with it.

I also agree with BreezyRacer, with a (possible) ban looming over renault plus their reliability problems they are not looking like a good choice for RB.

but.. nothing has been confirmed yet.

What if the xplanation is that the crash was indeed done deliberately, but that it was on Nelsons own initiative, a twisted attempt to show off as a team-player, caused his dad to snap when he was booted just the same?

Let sleeping dogs lie.

This entire investigation is worthless, and will only lead to even MORE manipulation by the FIA.

Why, oh, why doesn't this sh*t ever end?

There are so many variables going on at any given time, how does one "plot" in the middle of the GP to "fix" the race? They ended up winning again the week after, did they fix that one too? Its a competitive business and serious claims, but really how do you actually prove they did it? :wtf:

"nulla poena sine lege"
Renault might have used a trick to win the race but I would not even call
it cheating.
Can't you crash your car into a wall whenever you want?
For me it is totally ok, he didn't even touched another one or something like this.
And other than Schumacher in Monaco he didn't blocked the track.
So there is no punishment needed.

When they really did that on purpose and even managed to win the race,
so then they really did a brilliant job. =D>
Formula 1 means you want to win races, and you try it as hard as you can.

FIA should give them a warning, like don’t get caught by doing that again [-X

One relevant question is perhaps how credible the FIA will judge Nelson Piquet as a witness?
