I don't see what the "big update" in Imola is supposed to be if the floor is coming to Miami already, and as previously mentioned there were other smaller bits coming to Miami too. Maybe they've just pushed the entire thing one race earlier for Max's car. Still, risky given the sprint format and their general tardiness when it comes to finding good set-ups/correlation.
I think original plan was small steps for Saudi, Miami then bigger aero package (ie floor) for imola. If floor comes this weekend (rushed forwards) then like you suggest, then we shouldn't expect a lot more from Imola package. McL inspired brake ducts will debut at miami or imola don't know which
From the Autoracer article today
Pierre Waché's men are working hard to improve the single-seater and offer Verstappen a better package and after some corrections brought to the track in Jeddah, others will arrive in Miami, in addition to a more important package in Imola. A large part of the hopes is then placed in Barcelona and in the introduction of a technical directive that will impact the much talked about phenomenon of flexible wings, a very delicate topic in Milton Keynes.
[Marko] made it known that, as often happens in F1, his protégé’s contract included performance-related clauses that would allow him to free himself from this agreement. However, Max Verstappen has not yet used this clause , which would allow him to sign for another team in the second part of the current season, and he does not seem to be willing to do so if Red Bull shows that they can improve the RB21 between now and the summer break. It is important to underline that the Dutch driver had already given his word to Christian Horner that he wanted to stay at least until the end of next year , barring any performances considered indecent by the RB21. It is no coincidence that all the Red Bull men, including Marko, continue with the mantra “we must improve the RB21” , clearly without losing focus on 2026, but with the obligation to make important steps forward from Imola onwards and with Spain in their sights.
