He thinks Mercedes is running too low.
Did he really say that? Or was he referring to delta time?
Referring to delta time wouldn't make sense with his comments of "that Merc has to be illegal" or whatever it was exactly.
Illegal delta time. I don't see how Albon sees a technical infringement from his cockpit? Or is this the resurrection of "they have a bendy wing" from hawkeye Hamilton.

Maybe he saw sparks from the floor?

GR did note he was sparking excessively in FP1.
To be fair, if I'm Merc I'm slamming the car in the sprint akin to what Ferrari did in China. Then changing the floor and bringing the ride height up slightly.

There's nothing illegal about what Mercedes is doing until the FIA says otherwise. I think that perhaps the unspoken "mechanical update" from 1 or 2 races ago may have allowed them to do it.

Congrats for having ANT, incredible driver from the very first race to his first pole. Extremely jealous but since he’s italian I can cheer for him without cheating Ferrari.

Easily a few steps above the rest of the rooks and probably a step above a good chunk of the vets on the grid. Impressive stuff.

I think that Antonelli can win the sprint tomorrow. His race sim earlier today was extremely consistent. Mclaren struggles in dirty air. Piastri goes through the tires faster than Norris, especially in dirty air on medium tires. He just needs to get a good start and not let the Mclaren have a look into T1.

If those Imola upgrades work...

George looked dejected.
Kimi got the first of any first for the team this Season. Could this be the start of the end of any friendship?
George was used to being the young padawan with promise when Hamilton was in the team. Now he's not rhe favourite child anymore and Kimi is getting all the love fron the team.
We have never seen George in this situation so let's see how he manages it. He's British in a British team and political. He may soon start playing mind games.
For Sure!!

Fantastic lap by Kimi.

Been slowing a lot of promise this year and great to see him put a lap like that together.

The comparison of the two drivers shows some anomaly in engine power. There is a difference of around 10kph in some of those dips.

The aggression with the way he manhandled the steering with instantaneous 180 degree direction changes in the slower twisty parts of the track was fun to watch.

Aggressive, but still in control the whole time. Car is working very well here.

Oscar is one of the young ones that always stood out to me as someone who was almost bred to race in F1 and Kimi looks like he might be able to show some of that too.

Fingers crossed for the sprint. George needs to do the right thing, play the team game and go bowling into T1.

Blinding lap by Antonelli!

Neat. Accurate. Fast. Aggressive.
Will be an interesting sprint race. How do those Maccas react to the dirty air if they can't get past early?
Game on!

Depends on main quali. He won't make the same mistake of going out early and only giving himself one chance at it. They have the pace to get through Q1 and Q2 possibly even on one set of tyres. He'll be back at the fighting for the front rows I suspect.

That loss of time for Russell down the back straight is quite eye opening.
