Johnathan Wheatley leaves and the pitstops go to ****. Newey leaves and the aero goes to ****. :?

Any comment Christian?
The guy whose job is to look for an incoming car, forgot to pay attention and do his job and Christian has to answer that? The pitstop itself went fine. It's a basic human error. Of course Christian can fire that guy, but is that what is necessary?

If there is one thing people should have learnt by now, it is that this is not a aero dependent regulations set. McLarens have developed a strong mechanical platform and that is paying off handsomely, which has been the key to a winning car in this regulation set. Red Bull got it fine in the first year, not sure if that was Newey or Rob Marshal that was responsible for having a great mechanical platform out of the box, but since last year, they have been out developed by McLaren. One can guess who they are missing the most. But that was always going to be the case for any dominant team, that eventually people hit growth sealing and other teams pouch them.

Yeah agree more the gap grows in WDC, the less pressure I have while seeing races live. Its a long season, but still every point is vital.

Likely.

But they posted Yuki comes in 9th and takes points. That is absolute amateur hour. Again. And again.

Add Piastri to that and allegedly Russell is still pretty pissed off about the sprint quali.

We could have 4 drivers in the top 3 cars absolutely fuming going for pole later.

Yes it is. If the whole team is collapsing, from the development of the car, to the races strategy, to the inability of tuning up the car and finally ruining pitstops after pitstops, then it says that the top management is doing a poor job and is letting the whole team degrades without adressing the problems or without finding adequate solutions.

You don't become the top team in a highly competitive field by accepting and indulging mistakes , errors and distastous choices and executions.

Red Bull was the top team and is now quickly degrading in a Ferrari-like clown show.

The rear tyres started overheating so early in the sprint, no other team is close to the MCL in these conditions, they were lapping like 0.7 faster than Max , 1s on MERC and 1.3 on FER. They have no problem warming tyres in the wet and no problem overheating when conditions change to slicks.

Not to rub salt in your wounds but after Jeddah I said Horners first corner picture show was an absolute joke and that he was deflecting attention from Red Bulls bigger problems, almost a crisis.
You defended the team back then….

George is fuming because of Quali and going out too early. Then in the sprint, he was stuck behind Kimi who struggling and pitted a lap after Lewis who undercutted him that lost him positions.

Leclerc is fuming he didn't start at all and crash during the pre-race

Kimi is fuming about the move at turn 1 which last him 3 places at the start and the pitlane incident with Verstappen that caused him to not pit and when he did pit to change tyres he was down to P11

Max is fuming because of the unsafe release Redbull did during the pitlane that gave him a 10s penalty that dropped him to P17

Alonso is fuming because of contact with lawson that sent into the wall that could take him out of Quali.

Piastri is fuming because of the timing of the late safety car.

Albon might be fuming after the session because of his grid start.

Pitstops have been slow and error strewn all year. This is not an isolated incident. There is a fundamental breakdown of the culture that brings success.

Nope, not having it. Horner had one last chance to try and paper over the obvious cracks and drag this team to a 5th WDC but it’s not happening and they’re finished with that PU for next year. Anyone thinking that will be anything other than Renault 2017 is delusional.

I wasn’t defending the team. I was being sarcastic towards claims that Mclaren isn’t fastest.

Let us not forget that Max’s delta time was miscalibrated by 6 seconds yesterday during sprint qualy which should have earned him a grid drop for exceeding the minimum laptime…

It is a comedy of errors. The team is unrecognizable.

Let’s see what they have in store for Max tomorrow…

Has Marko spoken?
