I get it, there needs to be a positive, but the situation on the track is really unsustainable.

Beating Max in a slower car. This Russel guy's the real deal. Mercedes should focus on keeping their current drivers. They can deliver for far less expense. Before Max fans pounce, I am not saying he is better than Max. George is more than fast enough to deliver the maximum.

Considering that George is pretty much on par with Max on the WDC, that Kimi is able to deliver some solid results on only his first season and Mercedes are comfortable in 2nd on the WCC with an inferior car to Red Bull, I see no reason to go for Max as it would possibly cause more problems than it would solve.

Oscar is a good example that if the car is good, a good driver can easily fight for WDC. George can do the same as well in that McLaren. Max or anybody for that matter cannot win without a good car. So Mercedes should focus on building a strong car, instead of chasing Max. They have the drivers to do the job if the car is a championship contender.

Hanging out for the longer stint on the hards was telling. They were rolling the dice but a 75% safety car average is going to favour the risk eventually. Add in the green track the green track and the sprint data. Becomes a bit of a no brainer.

Overall, a very solid weekend. George has definitely stepped up his race pace this year, great to see. Kimi made a big step in qualifying, which is encouraging. Race pace is still lacking, but that’s to be expected. This is a learning year for him, and I’m positive he’ll get there.

We need upgrades. Let’s see how the Imola package works, but honestly, I still think we should shift development focus to 2026 ASAP. The gap to McLaren looks too big at this point. Even if the Imola upgrade brings a big step, the points gap is already pretty significant. But hey, let’s wait and see, maybe the upgrade works miracles, though I’m skeptical... what McLaren pulled off with their Miami upgrade last year is a rare sight in F1.

This is ignorant logic. You can't just use 75% SC number, because the SC wouldn't have helped George to come ahead of Max in like 85% of the race.

He had like a 5 lap window when the SC actually helped him to get ahead of Max (after Max pitstop, but before Max gets ahead by an other 3 or so seconds)
What was the chance for that? Less than 10% I reckon. You can't call that calculated risk.

Sc could have gone earlier when before the mediums pitted, in which case George would have been completely screwed or could have gone later in which case it wouldn't have helped him too much.

He never had 75% chance that SC comes at the perfect time for him, not even close.

Wolff should be playing better politics to stop the Mclarens. Where is the guy from 2021 and 2022 that had the FIA at his feet? He may have made a good move to sign Antonelli, but he can do more. It’s not enough.
