This is a major point that gets overlooked. Fred put himself in that role, while being team principal. Basically a fatal move akin to Binnotto; trying to be team principal and engine guru at the same time. In the case of Fred trying to be the French Newey. Back fired big time, but nobody is talking about it!
Indeed, should have asked Allison to hop back for a few months. Or maybe Wache was available on a quick notice, you never know!

Or strike a deal with Aston Martin to have Newey twice a week and holidays.... :D
Q: (Stefano Mancini – La Stampa) Kimi, will you help Vettel to win his championship this year?
Kimi Raikkonen: I can only drive one car, obviously.

Can anyone explain why Fred and Lewis are denying the rear suspension issue/Silverstone timeline?

https://x.com/VIGNERONGAETAN/status/1923499188207100361

Is he protecting a specific team in Maranello or is the media report wide of the mark. Fred's continuous messaging, with Lewis saying the improvement is coming in Spain seems mad, given what reliable sources (AR) have communicated. Are we expecting an aero update sidepod, engine cover etc in Spain. I thought everything was pushed until the suspension fix.

The only thing I can think is the don't want to say they are targeting Silverstone so far out and build this huge expectation. Similar to the 6 tenths Imola package from last year.

Charles on the radio after first push bail out:
This compromise is so annoying. We need to find a solution quickly. Really quickly. It's just impossible.

Bryan:
We're not going to fix it now, but I understand.

Charles:
I know, I know, but we need to.

Three cars are for sure faster…without something silly happening, looking at 6th to 12th range. The upper end for Charles and lower end for Lewis.

Max and the McLarens way out there

Should be fighting Albon and Sainz again.

AutoRacer said in a stream last month that at the start of the season the drivers were very upset at the car and team's (lack of) progress, despite not showing as much in public. Then they calmed down, I assume because the team told them there was a plan in place or something along those lines.

That plan is turning out longer than they anticipated, and the issues more complex than first believed. It seems again the drivers are beginning to get irritated with the (lack of) progress, this time more publicly.

I'm sure it's very frustrating for the drivers to go from competing for podiums and even wins last season to even P3 being an outstanding achievement.

And the solution only went into the wind tunnel this week... This triple header will be long and painful...

Yes, having two top tier drivers is a two edged sword because if you have a trash car it all becomes very much exposed and the optics are just extra bad all around.

Of course if you have a decent car you collect a lot of points

Some interesting facts regarding the C6 soft tyre:

- LEC did an 11-lap stint and set his fastest lap, 1.15.451, on the 9th lap, meaning there is a very low thermal deg.
- At the beginning of the FP3, both Ferrari drivers did a 9-stint lap on the C5 medium tyre, running between a low and medium 1.17 sec. lap.
- According to Marc Gene, the C6 tyre hits the working window almost 5 degrees Celsius above the temperature on the tyre blanket (70 °C), meaning that the working window in between 75 and 90-95 degrees Celsius
- and all drivers (except Macca ones) need guidance from the engineers on how to manage the tyre temperature throughout the lap in qualy
- At Ferrari, they have both temperatures (on the surface and the bulk/core of the tyre) on their wheel dash
- The C5 medium tyre could be used both in qualy due to having a higher working window than the C6 tyres, which didn't need much temp management throughout the entire lap
- Due to low tyre deg and wear, meaning that a 1-stop race is the obvious strategy for the race and there are 2 feasible race options, either starting on the C6 soft tyre and then change to the C4 one, or to start on the C4 tyre and go long on the first stint and then switch to the C6 soft tyre for the rest of the race ...

On the second twitter post. The "split front and rear" was in reference to adding more front wing. Charles was saying the fronts were gone after the first lap and Bryan suggest more FW for the next push. Seems like the rear would get too nervous.

Isn’t a working tire temp window of 75 - 95 degrees quite wide? How does that compare to a C5 I guess

If we take Q1 as the base we won't even get to Q3....

Also terrible communication from race engineers to drivers so far, seems like Ferrari aren't adapting as quick as the other teams. Both drivers let out way too late and then the race engineers sounding paniced. But what's new.

i think not improving much 2nd time on old soft cost them, maybe they should have went out with new soft after fisr redflag, so its not much about coms when car is just not good

They should do Q3 on the medium tyre. Stroll went quicker on the medium. So this C-6 is cheese.
For Sure!!
