It says alot about norris and oscar .. at the moment they are eddie ervin david coulthard level drivers in a newey like rocketshipFittingMechanics wrote: ↑20 May 2025, 15:20The pace was probably slightly better for Max than in Japan, but it wasn't 20-30 seconds gap that it ballooned in the race into. If Piastri didn't lose P1 (or Norris had it), it's likely they would have won it. That is my point, circumstances of the race exaggerated the gap.
Good work to Max, that was a great victory.
Btw I want to mention Norris and his overtaking in Imola. He pulled off a strong overtake on Russell and later on against Piastri. Really solid work. Piastri also did well on his climb through hard runners but the pace difference was bigger against those cars.

The car is very on the edge when pushed to the max for qualifying laps, so Monaco is probably the worst place for us.Darth-Piekus wrote: ↑20 May 2025, 22:24Do you think Monaco will be better suited for us than Imola and we can have two Mclarens in the front row?
First time we’ll see high downforce thoughbauc wrote: ↑21 May 2025, 10:25The car is very on the edge when pushed to the max for qualifying laps, so Monaco is probably the worst place for us.Darth-Piekus wrote: ↑20 May 2025, 22:24Do you think Monaco will be better suited for us than Imola and we can have two Mclarens in the front row?
It'll be an interesting test. It feels like the peakiness is mechanical though, but it will be interesting to see what the car is like when it is the mechanical aspects at the forefront.CjC wrote: ↑21 May 2025, 10:28First time we’ll see high downforce thoughbauc wrote: ↑21 May 2025, 10:25The car is very on the edge when pushed to the max for qualifying laps, so Monaco is probably the worst place for us.Darth-Piekus wrote: ↑20 May 2025, 22:24Do you think Monaco will be better suited for us than Imola and we can have two Mclarens in the front row?
In Monaco '24 it was also most likely the fastest over one lap. Piastri was the fastest on theoreticals but could not put all his better sectors together. And Norris was compromised by that incident with a banner in Q1 where he had to stop and burn extra set of new softs, so he was left with only one new set in Q3. It wouldn't be also unreasonable to assume Leclerc made a bit of difference individually as a Monaco specialist.FittingMechanics wrote: ↑21 May 2025, 10:39Last year the car was super dominant in Zaandvoort, Singapore and Hungary.
In Monaco it was right behind Leclerc. I think it's quite likely it will be the fastest car in race pace, but who knows if they can qualify ahead to make it work.
In Imola they tested a new high downforce rear wing so they are ready.
Can we stop with this crap already? Coulthard and Irvine were far inferior to Lando and Oscar.Henri wrote: ↑21 May 2025, 05:59It says alot about norris and oscar .. at the moment they are eddie ervin david coulthard level drivers in a newey like rocketshipFittingMechanics wrote: ↑20 May 2025, 15:20The pace was probably slightly better for Max than in Japan, but it wasn't 20-30 seconds gap that it ballooned in the race into.
