I am so confused. Flexi wings are superior. We know this. Why would a team use a wing that complies with TD018 before they have to?

These teams are getting disqualified for 1kg underweight, or 0.4mm extra wear on a plank, and they're voluntarily giving away guaranteed performance?

There was really nothing wrong with the rear-suspension anyway, I mean look at how Williams are going? So I don't understand why they decided to changed it in Imola. They focused on the wrong issue! Biggest issue is still the control of aero-wake that impacts the rear tyres and the car overheating the tyres, in Monaco? Shows that indeed, they desperatley need that new floor edge and other aero tweaks, fast! While focusing heavily on long runs.

Mixed bag in FP2. Not sure if they're not focusing much on one lap pace, but P9 and P12 wouldn't be ideal starting positions.

Does seem like Ferrari are running the engines turned up somewhat, so the gap may not be so large.

Nope they didn't, that's their pace. We are beyond cooked, fried, barbecued. Long runs don't look particularly great either. See you guys in Spain.

Well unless you're in the garage at Ferrari, we can't be certain. Granted I'm just going by speed traps and intermediate timings around the circuit.
Despite Karun Chandhok saying otherwise, engine mode is very important just for acceleration alone out of corners which gain you chunks of time.

We'll see tomorrow but I think you're being a teeny bit pessimistic. Merc ain't winning anything this weekend but still think a top 5-6 isn't out the question just yet.

But no, Merc as well as Redbull, who I'm not surprised is also struggling, aren't going to be anywhere near the Ferrari or Mclarens quali. In the race not sure.

Merc ain't winning anything this weekend

Said it a while ago, the car is good, but just lacks the peak window of performance like it’s predecessor’s, and that killer pace to really challenge. It would not surprise me to see Merc fail to win a race this season.

Don't allow pseudo-experts like Chandok to influence your opinion.There are only a handful of people within the 'huge' sky sports crew, who actually understand the technical aspects - Bernie Collins and Anthony Davidson to a small extent, because they are the only ones who have worked 'inside teams'. Everyone else in Sky, when they talk about technical points, are just vomitting jargons (which they happen to keep hearing) into english sentences. Similar with F1tv crew - the only 'sensible' ones who know what they are talking about, are Ruth Buscombe & to an extent Alex Brundle. Sam Collins is the biggest 'technical imposter' I have encountered in my life.
