Nope they didn't, that's their pace. We are beyond cooked, fried, barbecued. Long runs don't look particularly great either.

Well unless you're in the garage at Ferrari, we can't be certain. Granted I'm just going by speed traps and intermediate timings around the circuit.
Despite Karun Chandhok saying otherwise, engine mode is very important just for acceleration alone out of corners which gain you chunks of time.
We'll see tomorrow but I think you're being a teeny bit pessimistic. Merc ain't winning anything this weekend but still think a top 5-6 isn't out the question just yet.
