ALO can save all hards and mediums and use 2 more softs in FP3, that leaves him with 2 set of softs for Q, but 1 set is reserved for Q3. Realistically he starts Q1 with the soft set, followed by a medium set. 2 set mediums in Q2 and the 2nd soft set in Q3 again, unless he can save a set of mediums, abandoning a lap at the end of Q1 or Q2. Don’t think they will save a set of mediums for the race.

2nd option is a one-stopper, in that case he will use one set hards in FP3 and has a third set softs in Q.
You get a 14th set of tires if you make it into Q3, has to be softs.
No, it's how -wkst- said:

i) One (1) set of the mandatory Q3 tyre specification may not be used nor returned
before Q3 and, for the cars that qualified for Q3, one set of the same specification
must be electronically returned no later than the covers-on time defined in Article
40.6.
Thanks for the correction

They have setup car using only softs.

Not saying that could cause issues but interesting.

And yeah looks like he is not happy with the rear of the car. Donno but I feel as if ALO thinks good result is possible here

yeah he was complaining about there being no rear grip today. not great with all the walls so close to the edges of the tarmac. still seems like it should be good for q3. seems like they wouldve made at least one run on the mediums

The mediums will give more traction throughout the lap.

Crappy rumors, but still, apparently Crofty mentioned Alonso has been in the Alpine motorhome extensively this week.

I suppose it's not unrealistic to assume Stroll Sr is trying to pull Max Verstappen into the team, but it's pathetic to think that he has the chance to have an Alonso-Verstappen lineup, but would still keep his mediocre son in the team as opposed to Alonso.

The whole reason he owns the team is Lance, so that would not be surprising at all. I would think Max would stay in Red Bull for 2026 and see which teams does well if RB does not, and go elsewhere in 27, but maybe he is already fed up and wants to go where he think the future is. That being said, Max would absolutely dominate Lance, I think.

I don’t think that are just crappy rumors, there are too many signs that something is going on behind the scenes regarding drivers line up. STR is for sure not at risk…

Theres literally no reason to switch AM for alpine

Just remember Flavio is not only his friend, but also his manager.

Alonso also has A14 his management agency, he could just be talking about Bortoleto or even Pepe Marti

If your boss hires Max and makes you reserve driver for 2026 with the Honda/Newey car, you might want to explore options for a seat. But I think Alonso most likely drives for Aston in 2026.
