Nothing of the sort. The only 'ace' of Mclaren that can come to the party here is traction. This track doesn't have long corners, so their 'other' typical advantages (sharp front end, stable rear, ability to run as low as possible) are absent on this particular track where the kerbs ask for higher static ride height. Make no mistake, the MCL39 was still a front row car for this track ; just that today showed up their drivers for lacking that 'final 0.5%' when it comes to putting together a near perfect lap in Q3. Guys like Verstappen and Russel thrive on coming alive for that white-knuckled lap in Q3. LeClerc too could have delivered a stunner Q3 lap (purple S1) but according to him, was 'disturbed' by dirty air from Hadjar cooling down ahead (not sure whether it's true, could well be driver error).pantherxxx wrote: ↑14 Jun 2025, 23:13Maybe the Td impacted Mclaren afterall? Especially weak lap from Norris, and both Russell and Verstappen beat Piastri. Breaking stability is especially important here, more than in Barcelona. So it could have made the car harder to control.
Buemi losing his front wheels? A little earlier I think.search wrote: ↑14 Jun 2025, 23:27mmh, was that around the same time when they just lost their front suspension? That was a super fragile car back then. Also some of the first Newey Red Bulls.Mostlyeels wrote: ↑14 Jun 2025, 23:24Toro Rosso losing its engine cover? Verstappen I think?
Well done to George, great lap.
I don't really get your logic? They have to take their used softs, because they also used their mediums.
I agree just go back to original tcam and keep wider lense with no motion correction
What does that gotta do with anything? people got lives outside of this you knowlangedweil wrote: ↑15 Jun 2025, 04:19Only 6 pages in the race thread in the night after qualifying whilst the holiday season hasn't even started .. something about that seems to tell me that many ppl are no longer overly enthousiastic about the season.
I don't get it, didn't you say it's McLaren track earlier? Or did I misunderstand your post?venkyhere wrote: ↑14 Jun 2025, 23:42Nothing of the sort. I expected the 'slow corner traction' advantage of McLaren to be massive , just like how it has been in any slow corner encountered this year. And it might well have been the case here too, unfortunately we didn't get to see the McLaren on the C5 in Q3.Seerix wrote: ↑15 Jun 2025, 08:10I don't get it, didn't you say it's McLaren track earlier? The C5's and C6's performace over one lap have been virtually identical all weekend, bizarrely it were C6 runners who were often finishing their laps stronger, Charles would have been in the pole fight on them with a clean lap (or could have sloted into 2nd place at the very least), there definitely wasn't 2 tenths+ of extra pace in the C5s...
