Yellow flag for Max, so unlucky could have been P2 or P3.

Very unfortunate yellow flag.

It could have been P4 without that.

The car is still terrible. Tsunoda 18th.

Merc is not faster ,the rbr is supersensitive ,i think the high temperature hurt them

I was following the live timing and the flag had been already removed when he passed on that zone...

It will be high temperature during all the summer. It's not an excuse.

maybe, but clearly the position doesn't match the car's potential, we'll see tomorrow what the car is capable of

McLaren brought aero updates on front and rear suspension this week.

More importantly they have brought suspension updates, in fact almost every team on the grid has brought suspension updates bar Red Bull I think.

Tire temperatures also wrecked them, very hard for Max to extract performance, last run was -3 on temps and it was finally a bit better, but nobody can match MCL when it's hot.

Verstappen had a solid shot of landing in front of Leclerc.
The car is no doubt difficult to drive, even Max was struggling to get good laps.

Max almost lost it in q1 he was turning steering like was holding something hot quite funny ,but i think on race day it will be good so a podium and points scoring for both car is possible ,its relatively easy to overtake .the champ will be a challenge .spa and silverstone will be big test redbull strong hold.

Proves yet again how sensitive the car is to track temps. A disaster today. Track is expected to be the hottest tomorrow. A pace deficit of 1s in Q would imply that Max is going to get lapped by both McLarens tomorrow.

It's silly to hope for podium, Russel is in front, and he will do everything in his power, to get that final penalty point to Max, in case he comes up behind. I am expecting a T3 or T4 skirmish between them, even if it's a coming together when there is a tyre offset after one of them pits.

Can rule out the tyre cooling update that was supposed to come, lose so much performance when it's hot, MCL and FER(lesser extent) and much better than RBR and MERC in these conditions.
