It was hot enough for grass fires so that's hot enough to slow the Merc down I guess

As far A Kimi goes , everytime he gets a good result , ppl get excited about him beating George. And then it's a big letdown when George reminds everyone who's boss.

The majority were interested in tamping George down to bring Hamilton up since 2022 and now it's the same thing except with Kimi

The discourse around George's position is getting tedious. Elsewhere when Russell was struggling earlier in Q1, they were all loving it saying I bet Toto is already on the phone etc.

Whilst it wasn't his fault, I'm sure George had a smirk after Verstappen ended up down the order.

Tamping Russell down only makes Hamilton look worse, which was the whole point. Most of the people dunking on Russell were Verstappen fans desperate to find any way to make Hamilton look bad. If Hamilton beats Russell, then it's worthless because Russell was rubbish. If Russell beats Hamilton then it just shows how bad Hamilton is, etc, etc.

Russell is an excellent driver (as he has repeatedly shown). There are very few on the grid who could be competitive with him.
2007 - Beats 2005 & 2006 WDC Alonso. 1-0
2008-09 - Beats Kovalainen. 2-0
2010-12 - Beats 2009 WDC Button. 2-1
2013-16 - Beats 2016 WDC Rosberg. 3-1
2017-21 - Beats Bottas. 5-0
2022-24 - Loses to Russell. 1-2 (but outscores him)
2025-?? - Leclerc. TBC
Just the car???

As this year has shown, he is the most consistent driver so far. Arguably, more consistent than Max despite the car being more inconsistent in performance. When the car stands well, he can produce Vegas 24 and Canada 25.

Max joining Mercedes would be death knell for Kimi. The car would move away so drastically towards Max that Kimi would look like the other Red Bull drivers of recent times, totally hopeless. Given Kimi hasn't proved anything glorious exactly and I can't see him doing anything in 2026 either with Max in the other car, finding a seat elsewhere would be a nightmare for him. There will be pressure on Toto to find his replacement. May be a Williams seat in 2027 or 28 if Toto manages to influence James.

This year the mid-season reset came between the Canadian and Austrian GPs, as the third aerodynamic testing period (ATP), which is how ATR limits are enforced, ended on June 22.

Since Monday before the Austrian GP, teams have had the following percentages of a baseline that sets the number of windtunnel runs and number of CFD items that can be produced per ATP.

No they're just overheating the rear left within a few laps.

At this point it looks like Russell is just managing the entire stint to make it to the end in P5.

No it's struggling in the heat once again. This probably could be engine related because the car is struggling with not only with the track surface but how intense warm the air is all around. The tyres, are only part of the issue.

Really the car needs a massive radiator change because the car simply can't handle any type of hot condition and this has been a massive issue for much of the hybrid-era with Mercedes.

Didn’t they had a new engine cover for this?
