Still looking promising I'd say.
Never mind. They're absolutely cooked.

The interesting point to me from a sportsmanship point of view.... according to speculation, Verstappen's performance clause is he must finish 3rd or higher? Otherwise he has a contract exit opportunity?

Max is currently 3rd place. George is currently 4th....

Should George try to beat Max in the drivers championship to the summer break? If George pushes and beat's Max, then that would mean Max could be a free agent and there is an opportunity to take George's seat!

Should George not push, and have some terrible results, in order to make his seat more difficult for Max? ....

What a conundrum to be in.....

It’s Max vs Rus vs Leclerc for 3rd in WDC.

Looking at the current car & driver performance, Leclerc is likely to get that 3rd. But it’s F1 anything can happen.

Merc-Russell struggle with Race Pace (Tyre Deg)
RB-Max struggle with the Car
Ferrari-Leclerc struggle with performance of the Car in Quali.

Mark Hughes:
Track temperatures around a glorious Silverstone for FP2 began at 40deg C and had fallen only to 38-deg C by the end of the session. This is significant information because the forecast is for those temperatures to be around 8-deg C cooler for both qualifying and race – with the possibility of light showers too.

This is particularly significant for Mercedes, as its Friday struggles were all about overheating tyres, both front and rear. It’s a fast, long-corner circuit and as such presents its particular difficulties for this car, especially with a Pirelli compound choice one-step softer than last year. Even over the course of a single lap, George Russell and Kimi Antonelli were managing tyre temperatures and were around half-a-second off McLaren pace. The hope is that the cooler temperatures of the rest of the weekend will take the Mercedes rubber below the crucial threshold.

In order for Max to be in George's car from 2022-2024, someone else would be in the Red Bull at the same time. So again , that whole thing is a non sequitor.

George had to go toe to toe with Hamilton on hamiltons team for his first 3 years in a real car. Now he's getting it from this new prodigy in Antonelli and Max Verstappen of all ppl. Constant pressure. Constantly being overlooked for somebody else. Hamilton , Antonelli and Max Verstappen all invested in his failure. And he's taking it in stride.

The track ramped up towards the end and much cooler temps but the car is still looking at best for P5-6.

Not great at all.

Botched the setup for warmer temps. Probably not getting the tyres into the window.

I am tired of this car already, man. I expect the tire management issues to persist into next year car if they can’t solve it this season. We are looking like BUMS out there. 4 years straight looking like BUMS.

I do not care about P2. To me, this season is over, but I would have liked seeing some PROGRESS on the TYRE MANAGEMENT ISSUE. This team deserves P4 at the WCC standings and nothing else.

Wait I missed the end of FP3 but wasn’t Russell and GR very close to the top the first part of FP3? Then in the last 20min’werent able to do a fast lap?

Don’t tell me we are 0.6s slower than the best time

Overheatedturbo is really not happy.

I for one have given up, this season, predictions, hoping, maybe even this team… idk.

Merc is slow at Silverstone? Nope, can’t do this anymore.

I’m expecting a tough rest of the weekend.

Merc started their second runs with 20 mins to go, so yes that is the gap
Just a fan's point of view
