That might not be the case this time. He has chosen a higher downforce wing for tomorrow.

Yeah but he's still the biggest danger to us.

Well done Lando. Very good job.
Mclaren will be so unhappy!!
Don't know about McLaren but Palmer for sure. For some races he started more and more to be a "small" hater when comes about Lando performance. Maybe is only my opinion but anytime Hamilton or Russell is doing some bad performance he finds an excuse. But when comes to Lando, he is stricter than the stewards with Oscar under SC :D

Well done to Lando, he improved vs yesterday when most important, in S2. Very happy also for Oscar and it will be a interesting day tomorrow, with the announced rain.

Ps: happy to see her simile, at "her home"

It was a jibe to a comment from yesterday in the race thread after Oscar did a 1m 40.5 for sprint pole. It’s a salty comment from me I know.

Both drivers did a great job today however as we know- it’s all the car

Feels like there should be another 1.5 tenths in it with a perfect lap. Some wheelspin out of T1 on the exit kerb, and there were opportunities for tighter lines at a couple of corners, but most noticeably into T15. Still carried quite a bit of speed there to be fair, so I doubt there was much to gain with a better line.

Problem in 2025 is that it is unlikely they will split the strategies. They seem to be unwilling to do that because it would favor one of the drivers so we get Japan situation where they followed Verstappen into the pits.
I still wake up with the cold sweats, thinking about that race.

Was thinking.the same when I saw it, though i wasnt sure about time on the table. Some occasional mild wrangling of the car at points in the lap. Most noticeable at 1.

A symptom of a low downforce car pushed on the edge. Nice to see he was regularly finding the edge and not overdo it. Well done Lando.

Oscar did mention in post quali press conference he lost time in T14 on his last attempt that would have been enough for pole, so Lando's lap was not perfect. Still a great job to put it on pole on Osc's favourite circuit.

I think they were both fighting the car through corners it was not well set up for. Lando made the better job of it when previously he wouldn't.

Possibly the new geometry helping Lando feel the edge a bit more.

Looks like double stack is doable. Who wins will have to be decided on track.

Btw quite enjoyable to watch Verstappen sit behind a car with high top speed.

They should have double stacked. Norris will lose 3-5 seconds.

Hard to come back 6-7 seconds and fight through. This is a smart call. Surprising others didn't do it, it's exactly type of thing you can gamble on.

Looks like Oscar will try to go to the end as well (Team stream reports that). So Piastri is managing. Let's see how it shakes out.

It is, just surprising. Was Oscar given the option?

Softs won't be much good given how the mediums have degraded, so it feels like advantage Lando.
