I think they used imola floor instead Silverstone, but, doesnt matter, they just change things this wekend. We finally will see "the Silverstone's package" complete in Hungary, and there they will FP to maximize perfomance and setup. If we dont move foward, its over, even next year. Because these pieces emerged from New Wind Tunnel, so, imagine. Neither these parts are working if they cant improve next wekend. Im starting to think similiar to Leclerc, but about AM ( hes thinking about Ferrari obvioulsy). I dont know if this team are capable to be a world champion, they have a Force India Aura.

Why next year? The car for next year will be fully designed by Newey. The current car has an underlying problem that won’t be fixed with aerodynamic parts: front and rear suspension geometry, weight distribution, monocoque rigidity, etc. Even with the best wings and floor, it wouldn’t get close to the top 3 because the foundation is simply poor—it’s fundamentally flawed.

Because they cant understand what they doing in that tunnel, and they cant emulated decently what will happen in the track, doesnt matter Newey or new regulation is they cant deliver what they see in tunnel and simulator with their upgrades, the 2026 car will be a disaster like last 2 years and this. They need improve with their upgrades before start to think about be contender next year. Newey is tremendously good, but hes not a magician.

I really hope they messed up a lot this weekend and that this isn't our real pace. It seems like they didn't use any of the updates and everything was a test of them, if not we'll be better next week we can forget about 2026 because there's still something really broken in there.

Alonso seemed to be running the Silverstone floor and sidepods. I doudt he ran the new low DF front wing with the HIgh DF rear wing.

It was pretty obvious that Alonso was going nowhere when it dried up. With the big bucket in the rear he didn't accelerate as fast into eau rouge, Antman had this speed advantage from after turn 1 all the way to turn 5. Think this was a data gathering expedition by Alonso. Let's hope it's a it's a track specific issue but they just lacked DF from the floor in S2. Even with the Big bucket in the back, Alonso was slower out of slow corners that Antman

He did, started from pitlane. I will say the floor gates "looked like" the new ones from Silverstone but it's easy to get that wrong. The long sidepods were unmistakable. The floor I will not speak to cause the floor cages don't dictate the floor they're running. Nobody sees the floors.

yeah the whole "doomed for 2026" outlook is ridiculous. whether they win a championship in 26 or not, theres no doubt, the days of the team looking thoroughly incompetent are gonna be over. newey would probably build a better car than the amr25 without using a windtunnel.

i dont think this is representative of astons real pace, i think its representative of aston not knowing wtf they are doing when its time to put updates on a car. truely they need to get on top of this BS soon. if somebody needs to be replaced, they need to do it now. theres obviously some people that are clueless compared to every other team on the grid. look at what sauber and haas are doing with half the budget.

hopefully they can get lucky and make some changes that work over night.

I think Aston Martin quickly realised that their car wouldn’t be competitive on this track. Anticipating rain, they decided to carry out several tests to optimise the wet setup.

The racing team is trying to make the most of what they have. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t.

It is a high-speed, aero-demanding track and Aston Martin has struggled at such circuits in the past due to straight-line speed and downforce balance

yeah spa is obviously awful for the amr25. thats what i meant by saying that this isnt representative of its "real pace" (unless were racing at spa). they still suck at understanding how to set up the car and in their pitstops.

The other thing is this years regs are all about ground effects and next year those are gone. So how good you get the floor right this year will have negligible effects on what it takes to make next year's car go. Plus you also have Newey, I presume knows how to make ground effects work.

No, it was the Imola floor and sidepod spec.

No idea what rear wing he used, compared to STR it was bigger (so not Miami spec).

They opted for a wet-setup with big wings, with the delay that didn't work out.

ALO said even on the team website that the new parts didn't work (I guess he means the low DF rear wing). Monza, Baku or Vegas will be horrible.
