For once, a bit of luck! The early pit stop and not pitting for soft paid off in the end
Fortunate for Stroll, not so much for Alonso. It was good that Alonso had enough pace to keep Tsunoda behind who had 13 lap fresher softs.

After 13 laps, the Softs are done. Every lap after that they just keep falling further and further behind the hards. You probably have an edge on the softs for the first 10 laps.

Overall, a lackluster race from ALO. Yes, he was unlucky, the strategy made no sense in the first place and things went from bad to worse with the SC. But his (re)starts were pretty bad and was not much quicker than (and gout outscored by) a crash-prone Stroll.
Because of team orders

Don't bother with him. he's a waste of time.

Strange race… no luck for ALO and traffic.
Difficult to read the real pace the car had but the final result is OK

Alonso got screwed with the Hamilton crash. Stroll actually drove a pretty measured race.
Yep he was flying in clear air averaging 2 seconds a lap faster. When the Safety car came out he was ahead of TSU and 12 seconds behind Ant. So he had already undercut Antonelli, If Ant would have pitted under green, he would have come out at least 4 seconds behind Alonso. Alonso was also in the process of undercutting Albon, Saintz and Lawson.

I also noticed that on the start Alonso took the inside, that was a mistake. Then he got caught with the dirt that Max threw onto the track when his tire went on the dirt.

Not swapping positions back? Great
To close but honestly I don't think Fernando cares. Another missed opportunity cause Hadjar scored a podium in a car definitely slower than the Astons there is no doubt about that. I guess we now have to wait till Singapore.
The Racing Bull has been quicker than the Aston Martin all season. Hungary was an outlier track that played to Aston Martin's only strength. Most of the rest of the season is going to be a lot of pain.
yet despite making 15 points today for finishing on the podium, they're still 2 points behind us.

Did we still run the Silverstone and imola split between drivers.

Cos Alonso said pre race they had to raise the ride height from Friday to Saturday and Sunday

I don't think I ever took a stab at you
to warrant such a malicious, childish response. What a shame.

But to elaborate further (not that I needed to prove I am not a troll...), I think Fernando is doing a solid job most of time, even though he is less great at maximizing his opportunities, which used to be his biggest strength. Of course, that is kinda expected when Aston repeatedly prioritizes Stroll, they generally invent very poor, even ridiculous strategies for Fernando. Nonetheless, his start, plus getting passed by Tsunoda later, cost him dearly today. Even if you personally don't tolerate criticism here.

Are you correlating a car's race pace to the constructor's standings? Liam Lawson and a rookie are driving the Racing Bulls, and most of Stroll's points this season have come from aggressive pit stop strategy from behind and sometimes fortunate safety cars.

I don't understand how Stroll ahead of Alonso as he start from last? are they trying to prove something here? I bet they don't want Alonso to beat Stroll in point. Alonso will be gone by 2026 from Auston Martin. I will get lots of critics but this is going to happen. this is second or third incident in which Stroll beat Alonso from last.

Im curious to see that car next week in Monza, there we will see the real pace from that car. Probably Monza and Baku are the worst track for AMR25, especially monza. Could be a Spa's dejavu.

Did you watch the race or you just come on here after the race and b*tch and moan because of the result?

Stroll got lucky and Alonso got unlucky. Stroll pitted early cause there was free air at the back. So when everyone else at the back pitted, Stroll leaped all of them. Alonso pitted when he got a gap of free air to pit into, alot later than Stroll, was 2 seconds behind Stroll and lapping a second a lap faster when the safety car came out. That was that.

a similar scenario repeated itself later in the race when another safety car came out.

Two thirds of Baku is a slow section. You could go the high DF route and hope for a DRS down the straight.

Maybe we'll see the long sidepods in Monza.

If neither safety car came out, Alonso was finishing well ahead on pace. It was not unreasonable of the team to ask Alonso to move over when Stroll was on brand new tyres. I have criticised the team's strategy when warranted, but the M-H-H strategy was the optimal call today that only looked bad because of the ill-timed safety cars.
