Red Bull RB22

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Is the rib on the front cake tin new?

Looking like they're innovating in this area
I'm guessing it's got to do with the revised tyre hugging brake duct inlet introduced in Miami.

The rear of the engine cover seems more "square" to me but it could be an illusion.

Looks pretty similar to me to the Miami one on page 52. They did close the louvres as also stated in the upgrade list.

Alignment of front wing styles between RB and Merc. One thing that remains distinct for Red Bull is the direction of the diveplane. Mclaren and Mercedes have downturning diveplane. RB runs an upturning dive plane.

Not really. Same overall size but a larger second element and smaller third.

Respectfully disagree.
Overall size is bigger, the 'sticky out tabs' near the endplates on the Mercedes, makes it look bigger that what the overall frontal area is.

All cars run their rear wings to the full legality box since SLM became a thing, anything else is leaving super efficient downforce on the table.

Seems bigger than Mclaren too.

It's closer in the frame and at a steeper angle, of course it looks bigger. All these wings are max size.

I don't think it's all the same. You can have a different angle within the box.

Angle isn't size. Can't see the angle from a head on shot.
