Red Bull RB22

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

I'd love to know how much downforce that's actually producing. A few 10s of N at most, surely.
If you are more fortunate than others, build a larger table not a taller fence.

Given that Mercedes seemingly spent significant amounts of time and money from their limited budget in order to develop their solution, clearly enough for the cost/benefit tradeoff to make sense.

It’s super cool at least.

It would be hilarious if, come the first qualli run, there was no sign of these devices and they were just to encourage photographers to show the adverts off.
When arguing with a fool, be sure the other person is not doing the same thing.

Merc's is somewhat more involved that RB's. Merc's links to the rear wing flap where the RB looks more like a bit of a "well, it won't hurt so why not?" thing. No doubt RB spent less.

The purpose of devices like this is never direct load generation. They enhance the flow of the entire rear wing system.
