This car hasn't offered credible challenge on traction-dependent and power tracks. Not sure what mechanical attributes yield great traction...low cg, low moment of inertia along x,y,z axis?

No clue why the deg was so bad here. Even worse than McLaren which is the most puzzling bit. In pre season testing Ferrari were flying on the race sims on the hot day with Leclerc and they barely had any deg. McLaren was the complete opposite. Very weird race. Let's wait and see how it pans out in Silverstone.

Whatever happened to Charles’s car in Canada is a crime.

It was like driving on ice.

no pace at all.

shame Ferrari for a such weak engine

This car is fourth best when it comes to race pace. I could not believe when Piastri pulled away from Hamilton. Expected to at least get him. The Merc and Redbull were simply in another league.

Nigh impossible to battle there with the straight line issue.

Maybe silverstone titling a little more towards aero, will be better

Lovely dreams! Team victory?! Ha! Who sold you that hopium?!
Can only hold my hands up and say my bad I did not expect this comprehensive collapse of Ferrari pace. Double shame that the mindboggling soft stint also cost Hamilton a position.
If only they had a crystal ball and fitted the softs at the first stop.

I think the car will do well in rain and cooler temps, which are few and far in between. I would really like to know why it has such bad deg.

they were burning the rear tyre, charles asked for -10 front wing for last pitstop,, and -5 or -6 for first pit stop..
never in my all my time seeing charles onboard have i seen him ask for that large of wing, its almost always been Plus clicks, never minus.. and never minus so much

Edit:- leiws asked for same, for pretty much all his pit stop he asked to take the front wing down

Silverstone is usually a front-limited track but with the heat it'll tilt towards the rears. If they don't find a solution for the abysmal rear axle degradation not even Hamilton can rescue the team next weekend.

Remember how Kimi repeatedly gapped Hamilton right after Sainte Devote? That wasn't power alone...traction disparity was at play as well.

Every driver has strong and weaker circuits. Every top driver hasnt been able to win championships without having the best car by far or a car close to the best. Even Senna had to go to the dominant Mclaren Honda to get his titles and then when Mclaren was on the decline wanted to go to Williams race after race in 1993. Hamilton has had a career many would be jealous off. A rookie who beat Alonso on equal cars and beat Kimi in a faster Ferrari (that is if the two Saubers have been punished as they should), went toe to toe and beaten so many world champions and at age 41 still able to beat every driver half his age. The guy was able to evolve 3 different teams. I havent seen that efficiency since Senna and Schumacher. While it might sound as a hype, Ferrari is lucky to have that top of a driver in their ranks.
Astonishing capacity to make up narratives that don't exist in reality.

Has Fred not realized yet that FIA has been in the pocket of Reichmarshall Wolff ? For the past many years ? Who was desperate for 'more electric proportion' formula ? and who 'offered help to the FIA' ? And why 'camerabomber sheikh' has suddenly become omnipotent with the removal of term duration from FIA presidentship ?
Didn’t Ferrari just successfully petition the FIA to nerf Merc’s diffuser?
Because FIA had nerfed a similar diffuser from Ferrari long ago. It would have been 'too obvious' had they allowed Mercedes' since it's a 'visible part'. FIA's hand was forced this time, purely due to 'precedent'.
And before that they always made decisions that helped Ferrari, formt he mid 90s to the late 2010s at least including the cheat engine years where no punishment was given. Nothing new...

Race pace, Mercedes & Verstappen virtually equal on this track. Ferrari & Mclaren off (by not by a huge margin, say ~0.5s).
