The RBR fans are on the same amount of hopium the Ferrari fans were huffing after Barcelona. Let’s see what Silverstone looks like. Maybe they look great again? Maybe it’s back to reality.

Why are Mercedes not being investigated for their additional deployment in comparison to other teams? Ferrari were constantly hounded in 2017, 2018 with regards to oil burning and second battery, But why is shitter being given a free pass??
You forgot fuel flow deception as well. One of the two teams you mentioned received a secret settlement with the FIA, so it seems like the hounding was warranted.

Merc and RB already both had 1 gray area advantage neutralized in-season. FIA told them they had to stop using the MGU-K sudden/emergency shutdown in qualifying. Shutting down the system sent all remaining electrical energy directly into the rear wheels instead of using it to recharge the battery. This allowed them to run at maximum battery deployment all the way to the timing line.

- George Russell warns F1 rivals could 'pay the price' in Mercedes hunt
“We have been surprised at how many upgrades some teams are bringing. Maybe they'll pay the price towards the end of the season.”

As Mercedes looks to maintain its position at the front of the field, Russell insisted the team will not rush into a decision over when to introduce its next major upgrade package.

“We know what we're planning [with] our upgrades. It's not this side of the break.

“Then we can just review during the summer break, if we pull the trigger slightly earlier on those upgrades or not.

“So it's just a balancing act, but as Toto said me, we have been a bit surprised with how many that some other teams have brought.”

I guess Merc are the only people with agency to complain to the FIA on others engines

Well the deploy gray area was small and inconsequential. Merc even got Ferrari start advantage neutralized this year.

"Starting with 0 percent battery is not a lot of fun and quite dangerous," "So we're in discussions with them to see what can be done. You can see we almost had a massive shunt in Melbourne in the start, some of that is related to battery, some can happen with an anti-stall, but you can see a lot of big speed differences.

"I was not the only car that had almost no battery or 20/30%, this is something that can be easily fixed.""
That was Verstappen.

McLaren initially raised the issue in February at Bahrain testing via Stella.
Alpine, McLaren Merc are listed as those that voiced concerns to the FIA on the closing distance issue.
Perez, Ocon and others (Including Vers)raised awareness to the problem which the FIA examined and changed.
There was no protest or clarification by any team or driver to force any changes by the FIA (such the compression ratio test and serrated diffuser)

Hope that helps.

I actually like George, but I do feel like he's going to end up having to play a supporting role for Kimi. Especially if Lewis really does start to challenge for the title.

There can only be one or another or both, of the following two reasons for Hamilton pole :

1) Ferrari must have brilliantly used their ADUO to enhance their PU (ICE/recovery efficiency/deployment efficiency/MGUK itself) because this (white encircled in the pic) is possible only if there is 'extra energy to spare'. To the effect that the Ferrari PU has surpassed not only RBPT's PU, but even the Mercedes PU.

OR/AND

2) Ferrari's overall SLM drag is much much lesser than anyone else.

Ferrari’s simulations yesterday had predicted them losing up to 6 tenths on the straights to Merc and RB.

What I’m guessing is that Merc did not quite get the deployment right here initially. We’ll see.

Shovlin:

”Today has been frustrating on our side. We've had a good run of landing the start set-up in a decent place in recent races, but it has felt like we've been on the back foot today. Over the course of the sessions, we've been making changes to put more stability into the car but even by the SQ3 of Sprint Qualifying, it still felt that the front was still too strong, which is not what you need when it's so gusty.

On top of that, we have a speed difference that we need to understand that was costing us a decent amount of time on the straights. We can't make changes ahead of the Sprint tomorrow but we're working hard to get on top of these issues and find a better compromise with the set-up ahead of Grand Prix Qualifying tomorrow.”
