According to autoracer:

- Goal is to close the gap to Racing Bull and Alpine
- Be ahead of Audi and Haas ( and Williams and Cadillac)

They will need a lot of seconds, but we know the first seconds are the easiest.

This mean, they think the Honda can recover something like 70hp ? Sounds ambitious
I can't help but :D
Forget RacingBulls/Alpine, or even Audi/Haas,
first let them go ahead of Cadillac. That should be the honest aim. Because it will take them atleast 2 race weekends to figure out the energy management that will optimize 'what they have in hand'. Actual performance will come only later.

So rumor from Spain is Honda delivered an engine that didn't fit into the chassis this winter.....all hell broke loose and everything was a compromise until now.
DAZN collaborator Roldán Rodriguez said this on his channel.

Nevertheless, I wouldn't be surprised if Honda designed an engine, Newey came aboard and change the requirements and Honda could not adapt fast enough. It seem to me that AM is focused on putting all the blame on Honda when they built a sub average car.

Newey used the term "all the aerodynamic surfaces are changing". Which I understand as anything that touches passing air.
The monocoque front section is accompanied by the rear monocoque (that is being described as "gearbox" ) with the two being rigidly mounted to each other via PU and its rules regulated bolt/pickup points to form one whole "chassis" of which the only noted change, from AN, is the minor shift of some rear suspension location. Ostensibly the same as now used effectively, with no fundamental or radical redesign.

The Transmission, from PU to differential, is located inside that rear structure, entirely.

Aero schema is what "clothes" that structural assembly listed above. This appears to involve most changes, from team comment, so far.
I like that description.
I only ever heard about a "rear monocoque" here though.

Not sure what's so insane with that? The PU overall performance is stemming from programming. Programming is constantly evolving, it can be changed at all times except between qualifying and race. I would not expect and efficiency issues with the MGU-K. OK, unlike Merc, Audi and Honda who have EV teams that make electric motors for EVs that those respective teams can ask, RBPT do not.
Ford did make EVs, right? It's supposed to be a technological partnership between them.

That sounds like the re-imagining of the PU coming with MGU-K along side the ICE and Newey asking to have put in the front. That and asking for the batteries to be stacked. Same story different way of saying it.

Yeah, as there is ZERO way they brought an engine that "didn't fit" .

I'd take this with a grain of salt and with all due respect, I'd take most of what the Spanish media has been saying with a grain of salt. It is all extremely toxic, propped up by the idolisation of Alonso. It's usually just smack to dress down Honda because of this Alonso v Honda narrative.

Just a thought but if Honda engine is same as earlier no ADUO changes applied and with the new gear box and chassis there are no vibrations then it can be concluded that Honda is underpowered but the gearbox or another component was responsible for vibrations?
There are no vibration now. So why would there be in the future?

You need to look at this in a different light. Vibrations are just a normal thing for ICEs. They all vibrate. Teams just a have time to do away with them, tune them out. When I say teams, I mean teams like AMR/Honda teams. In this case both the ICE and the chassis was so behind schedule that they didn't have time to resolve them. So the vibrations are from AMR and Honda doing a piss poor job of integration. Leave it at that.
Agreed. It is worth noting again, Koji Watanabe made it a point to say this years PU has almost identical vibration signatures and magnitude as the 2025 PU and it was no issue with Red Bull. So it is obvious this car is just completely underbaked with horrid integration.

Newey was extremely clear that they didn't do a good job on the chassis/aero side as well for multiple reasons.

If Alonso leaves, they should pick up Tsunoda. He will be cheap and can speak the native tongue of the Honda engineers. He can be #2 to Lance even. He's fit and in his prime now, and hungrier than ever. Just needs to keep that temper down and not get in the way of Lance.

Lawrence Stroll's approach to F1 is exactly what Newey had said before about billionaire coming into F1 with money and expecting have instant success. He spoke about this when sharing about RBR journey from ex Jaguar team to become a F1 champion.

Stoll had placed a very expensive bet on 2026 season which is funded by loans and some at 10% interest cost. Aside from F1, Aston Martin road car is also struggling to stay afloat due to poor sales especially in China market and export to US due to tariff.

With AM and AMR both struggling financially I dont think Stroll well be able to bankroll both operations for too long and I think AMR and AM may eventually be sold and become a China Geely brand, and Zhou Guanyu will be their driver.

You ignored an 2 important parts. At 3.6 billion dollars The F1 team is a expensive purchase espcially without an engine (Honda likley wont supply if geely is involovled). More importantly The F1 team right now is effectively bank rolling the car company as the value of the team is rising faster than the total debt aquired by AM Cars (118M in 2018 to 3.6B now) while AM cars total debt in the same time frame (600M in 2018 to 1.9B now) so the Lwarance (yew holding) can continue to take "loans" using the f1 team as colateral to keep the car comapny afloat.

More importantly Both the car comapny and F1 Team are now seperate entities and the F1 Team infact just bought the nameing rights from the car company to use the Aston Martin name despite having the same owner. This is a spider web of money laundering and tax avaoidance and helping keep the f1 team incase he got to sell the car company. By AM wont get you the AM F1 team anymore and Lwarnce mastefully crafted a situaition where somewhat like USA he can get into as much "reasonalbe" debt as he want for AM cars to bankroll both for as long as he wants thanks to the Aston Martin Brand value(very similar to how Ferarri stayed afloat after the plans from Ford to buy it fell through, lost le mans after that but Ferrari survived)

However Honda Faliue might through evrything into the bin dropping the value of the AM F1 team. Lwrance cant afford that so he needs the cars to atleast fight for points starting now.

Ps: F1 team was funded by loans to buy but the devlompment had almost no loans in them. He had to do thsi to ensure the value increases and he can use the development s as colateral for the 550m he just received.
Halo not as bad as we thought
