This makes sense since it will mostly be aero testing and CSTs so Leo should be able to do this easily before pushing toward the end of the session. Lando will collect the primary setup data

Furthermore, if there is any play in the hinges, you lose some precision in the position of the wing. It's a very fiddly thing to develop.

Q : if you think the Hungarian GP pic above (marked 'flip-flop') is the rotating wing, how would it rotate Ferrari-style, with that central actuator ? It's not possible. Either that pic is not of the rotating wing, or it rotates Redbull-style. Looking at this new linkage, it appears to connect to the very front edge of the flap and nowhere else. Pretty sure that geometry would imply the Ferrari rotation direction, while still using a central actuator. If so, it's a nice way to sidestep the RBR pitfalls without having to completely reinvent the actuator assembly. I believe this is being done in conjunction with the new rotational axis as pictured below. This positioning is similar to Ferrari's, correct?

The actuator arm appears to attach to the very front edge of the flap (2nd element) and nowhere else. From the perspective of the pod, Ferrari-style opening keeps that front edge visible most of the way through it's travel, so with a single point of attachment it should be achievable. It would take a very creative mechanism to articulate through that motion reliably, but McLaren are more than capable.
