honestly the 3 grid penalty killed his race today. there was logic for the 3rd stop but only if he cleared kimi which he couldnt. P2 was very possible today but once again... bad luck and an unfortunate penalty. this is like 2008 all over again when the stewards were microscoping him. how come no penalty for sainz for causing an avoidable collision with piastri?

I actually think Charles would have done it.

But what’s the point. It looked promising but they are very clearly no longer in the championship fight. Especially not with their lead driver getting penalties all over the place including the pit lane like some sort of rookie.

Let’s look forward to 2027 I guess.

The last call on soft was totally unexpected and decision to not pit during VSC was brilliant too. I guess cooling condition may have helped to keep the tires alive

Alonso had already done a 33 lap stint on softs, so they had at least some indication
