There are 3 videos, 2 of Anderson and Windsor and 1 showing the chassis being constructed.tok-tokkie wrote:When I click on the link I get Anderson saying absolutely nothing of any interest whatsoever. have they substituted that for the one showing the progress on the car?
Weren't they most proud of their new or high tech windtunnel in North Carolina?Pup wrote:So, have they nixed the wind tunnel, a la Manor?
Its a full size rolling road wind tunnel that Anderson was a consultant for. They don't own it by any means, but I believe that it is near their factory.mx_tifosi wrote:Weren't they most proud of their new or high tech windtunnel in North Carolina?Pup wrote:So, have they nixed the wind tunnel, a la Manor?
And wasn't it full scale as well? Or something along those lines.
Important correction: not high tech but state-of-the-art! There's no sign it's available for USF1, but I guess there's nothing wrong with being proud of your neighbours.mx_tifosi wrote:Weren't they most proud of their new or high tech windtunnel in North Carolina?Pup wrote:So, have they nixed the wind tunnel, a la Manor?
A question to our CFD experts, is this enough computing power for F1?Corvid Technologies wrote:Our primary computational resource is an indigenous 1250-processor x86 32 and 64 bit multi-core Linux cluster. The system provides 40 Terabytes of data storage, 1250 Gigabytes of RAM, an Infiniband high-speed interconnect, and over 10-million cpu-hours annually. Current capability permits routine in-house calculations on problems with 80 million or more elements.
Everybody HAS to say 'Thank You' to McLaren.... they supply the ECU.xpensive wrote:I think scarbs was polite in his comments on the video, but it had "American chopper" written all over it if you ask me.
Come on, mating the top and bottom of the tub on top of some dust-bin?
That website? Well, I've seen teenager's sites far more elaborate than that, while for those "partners", please note that McLaren was listed too. We know from their first attempt that Windsor's namedropping and references are not always consistent with the truth either.
One can't help wondering what incentives the FIA had to pick USF1 before the Richards/Prodrive/Aston Martin effort?
This article from Wired in 2007 has Ken speaking for the Windshear project and lists him as "technical consultant" - clearly he wasn't a lackey or Wired would have been interviewing someone else!xpensive wrote:I wonder why they keep saying that Anderson was Technical director wor the design and build of the Windshear tunnel,
when a spokesperson for the owners already in March xplained that he was merely a consultant?
Windsor's CV has been revised however, when it now says that he was GM for Ferrari GTO UK, not for Ferrari per se.
Perhaps that is a good idea as a member of FOTA?
