Does anyone have another competitive GP2 time aound Jerez for comparison? I got this from

Best Lap Time in 2009 (09 Spec car): 1:17.494 Kazuki Nakajima (Williams F1 FW31) - 19 March

According to that source Michael was seven seconds off the pace of Nakajima in the 2009 Williams FW31. Sounds ok for a GP2 car.

One assumes that Kobayashi was in a GP2 car as well? The difference will probably be partly due to temperature and rubbering of the track. It still sounds pretty decent.

what would you expect from a test like that ?a new lap record worthy of a F1 car in a proper competition situation?

the question to ask would be : how constant were those times ,how long did it take him to achieve that level and what were the mistakes he did on track.
We don´t know if the car was just a GP2 contender or had development parts on it and when.
To me the whole thing is just a very clever ways to familiarise Schumacher with his primary guys of trust when at work .Spending time with your guys sorting out a car to your liking can be a lot of fun besides hard work.I guess this exercise gave good feelings to both sides engineers and driver before the real challenge is taking of in Feb.
