Is the "Lump" under the nose where the front wing pylons mount, significant?

It looks like a version of Renault's thinking last year but I'm not sure. I think it's a aero item as it's painted black on the head on picture.

Are they trying reduce air pressure under the nose? or push it somewhere, like towards the floor splitter?

Front or rear? The front ones look normal to me, can you explain what you mean? Cheers

interesting venting going on in the shark fin to the right of the royal challenge logo.

also the scoop has a slot on the Kingfisher logo just after the F.

What I meant was that most cars that I can remember seeing in recent years are running "trailing" front brake calipers(as in behind the axle centerline) or in the cases of a lot of Newey cars, running it on the 6 o'clock position, while this one leads.

Well, not as top as you would like probably, but at least:

Diffuser concept is certainly unique. You can see the little winglets Scarbs was talking about in the above picture. I wonder if this diffuser would be easier to follow given it's high and narrow?

It even looks like they have the removable panels that can be replaced with slotted panels just behind the sidepods radiator intakes!

yeah the opening is much further down in the sidepod so you're left with all that room where it says "Royal Challenge." It's drastic compared to the 09 car. mclaren's isn't that low, but it does look like they (FI) could put that same kind of slot on there that mclaren has. oh well, they must have done it for a reason...
Best regards. I guess this explains why I'm not at my post!

Both brakes look to be on the outer most side of the car. I don't understand why they would do this other than perhaps there is some compromise being made for aero.

Most of the time the brakes are mounted the opposite in order to get the mass of the calipers as close to the cg of the car. Newey likes mounting the calipers at the bottom in the aim to improve the cg (lowering it).
