I don't know about getting the video feed over internet or anything, but if possible (and if you can get them synced up) it's worth listening to the Radio 5 Live audio feed. Much more detailed, interesting, intellectual commentary from David Croft and Anthony Davidson. Also no Jonathan 'Fanboi' Legard incessantly telling us how Hamilton/Jenson is 'on a charge'.

radio5 is usually what you get during practice on the BBC feed, most of the season i was watching from justin.tv but bernie and his goons were cracking down on it constantly which made things very frustrating.

If FOM made it available at a cost id gladly pay!!!

Watching F1 on the bbc feed, outside the UK is an art-form!
I have a chat that is made up mostly of Aussies that watch the BBC
for the same reason you stated. We discreetly share our pirated feeds.
Justin tv is one source, but there are many others! If you would like to know more Just PM me!

I'd love to ask how good the BBC feed is. I just moved to London after my PhD and I don't really want to buy a TV and pay the license. Heck, for the price of the license, I can go to any pub and have lunch there on all the GP Sundays.
I am not amazed by F1 cars in Monaco. I want to see them driving in the A8 highway: Variable radius corners, negative banking, and extreme narrowings that Tilke has never dreamed off. Oh, yes, and "beautiful" weather tops it all.

Forgive my lack of knowledge, but you need a license to own a TV?

I the test hard? :)

Not really. But if you want to watch the public channels, you have to pay a yearly license (per household, AFAIK). This amounts to £150.00. If I get smart and don't go to central London to watch the races, I think I can get 18x(lunch + pint of beer) for that amount of money.

EDIT: It's actually £142.50 this year. More details here:

I wolud be happy if someone could provide a BBC stream for German users
It would be nice for practice, since there is no broadcasting of it in Germany besides PayTV and for Qualy and Races, because the fools of RTL are ****** (bad word^^)

In most European nation states TV was introduced as a public service owned by the government. The licence is in actual fact a tax that Europeans still pay regardless of the existence of private free to air and pay TV channels. If you own a TV the tax is applicable.

Is there any country out there without a public TV broadcasting channel? I suppose that the US may well be the only one. Also, do you have to pay a TV license in your country? Ah, fine, I've just checked wikipedia. Spain is one of the few countries in Europe without a TV license, but we do have to endure long advertisment sessions.

If you can find a UK based VPN to log onto, then you get recognised as being in the UK. Don't know what sort of bandwidth you'd be getting trying that in Aus, though.

Are there any background sounds (engines etc.) on radio5 feed? I'd make an effort to find a proxy then (and watch the TV on mute). The Friday practise commentary was great.

I tried some free proxies last season without much luck, the speed wasnt good enough, thats why im hopeful a pay proxy may be a better option, ive still got a few weeks to investigate :)
