Objection. Barcelona isn't a low downforce circuit like Spa and Monza where Force India was good. You have to have downforce to be good at Barca.

@WhiteBlue: Indeed, my bad. I have no idea where I thought we were today

From InsideFerrari:
Back on standard for Alonso. So far it was an interesting and productive day.
I wonder what "Back on standard" actually means? No longer running with a thimble of fuel? No longer running the engine rich to force a very fast lap?

Actually, thinking about it - in these testing sessions, do the cars needs to be race legal? Can they run the cars intentionally light, or low, etc?
Yer.

They can presumably run what they want. I mean they are running with big testing things on the car (mainly mclaren) and they would not be allowed in a race.

It seems Merc are doing runs and adding bits on each time.

Still really slow times though. I'm not sure if the car is slow or they genuinely dont care about setting headline laps.

edit..

Alonso just did a 21 lap run with pretty much the same average time as Schumachers fastest lap so far. hmmm

Thanks. =D>

I've been rummaging around there this morning trying to find it!

Will now build a graph to show distribution of lap times

An individual lap time is random unless you know how much fuel was in the tank. Even when there is a 20 lap run they could anywhere between 60kg and 180kg of fuel.
NobleF1 Vettel's was a pure qualifying simulation - with just one flying lap

It appears that Red Bull are doing quali simulations, unless they sandbag with more fuel.

imo if the car was fast MacMerc wouldn't be wasting precious testing time hanging analysis tools all over the car! Instead they'd be fine tuning the car for Bahrain.

Are you going to plot it?

I want to avoid doing double work.

BTW, Webber did a three flying lap run yesterday. So it wasn't a quali simulation unless they used hard rubber, which is possible the middle lap was fastest.

from http://esporte.ig.com.br/grandepremio/aovivo/
When light, Alonso did 1:20.637. During a 21-lap stint, probably with loads of fuel, his best was 1:24.948.

Force India are gonna try and make sure they done thave a red flag, as is now tradition for the end of a test day. No red flags today so far, so looking like a pretty clean day so far, of whitch i have probably cursed it now.

I'm posting individual driver's lap times over Clip the Apex http://www.cliptheapex.com/forum/viewto ... 5&start=50

They are from the MSFree live feed, however their server is suffering an overload today. So I would suggest just popping down to Clip if you want the reasonably up to date lap by lap times that I am posting as and when I can get them.
