McLaren certainly have a cash flow and finance problem. They lost huge transfers from Mercedes and have to pay back their shares. At the same time their development cost and Capex for the MP4-12C manufacturing system have escalated to new heights. They must show clean ratings to raise the money and attract new share holders for fresh capital.

Strategically they are also in the mire for going it alone without a volume road car manufacturer. Their fleet CO2 emission data will massively exceed the EU limits and they will face stiff tax penalties as a result. This is going to push their sales price up compared to companies like Ferrari and Merc who can offset their super car emissions by small Fiats and Renaults.
Formula One's fundamental ethos is about success coming to those with the most ingenious engineering and best .............................. organization, not to those with the biggest budget. (Dave Richards)

Not much into this data. It's just the usual Italian accountant taking naps in the afternoon instead of meeting deadlines. In fact, if they published this article in Italy, no one would think the teams are late. They'll probably say, why so soon? :D
