McLaren certainly have a cash flow and finance problem. They lost huge transfers from Mercedes and have to pay back their shares. At the same time their development cost and Capex for the MP4-12C manufacturing system have escalated to new heights. They must show clean ratings to raise the money and attract new share holders for fresh capital.outer_bongolia wrote:The interesting thing is the fact that McLaren has started paying 12 days sooner than usual. Hmm.. Is their credit rating going down?
Strategically they are also in the mire for going it alone without a volume road car manufacturer. Their fleet CO2 emission data will massively exceed the EU limits and they will face stiff tax penalties as a result. This is going to push their sales price up compared to companies like Ferrari and Merc who can offset their super car emissions by small Fiats and Renaults.
