That's just silly, when 2 drivers are both in the hunt for the WDC and one driver has the misfortune to break his only part (apparently it wasn't attached 100% correctly - his side of the garages fault) you don't cannibalise the other drivers car for the part even if SV is leading the WDC - it's just bad form and will create the fireworks that we saw. Especially after the Turkey stuff, CH really did not think this one through!proutyc wrote:Will be intersting if this whole fiasco raises its head again. Though I feel sorry for Webber, and personally I'd like to see him win the championchip, Vettel was leading the points within the team so therefore he deserved priority treatment.
Did they have a another spare if Vettel damaged his nose in the race?
Webber was leading the WDC when they tried to engineer SV's win in Turkey so im not going to hold my breath on that one.richard_leeds wrote:If they've set the principle as the favouring leader in the WDC, then lets see if that holds true in the next race ....
Ok I admit the GS was possibly a bit strong so i'll remove it.Giblet wrote:Djos, personalizing your post at anyone will get poor results. Attack the post, not the poster. 'Get stuffed' is an insult, and it has not place in a thread about a racing team. It's really very simple.
Since I guess it's possible you somehow think it's just an expression, understand saying it is little different than "F--- Off".
Andrew, just report these kind of posts instead of responding, take the high road.
Did anyone hear his race engineer say "You can't go this slowly" over the radio?myurr wrote:Most people's issue isn't that Vettel came through the field it's that he displayed no interest in trying to fight back into contention until the safety car did most of the hard work for him.
I thought I heard them tell him to get a move on but I forget the exact words - iirc they were "encouraging him to go faster"segedunum wrote:Did anyone hear his race engineer say "You can't go this slowly" over the radio?myurr wrote:Most people's issue isn't that Vettel came through the field it's that he displayed no interest in trying to fight back into contention until the safety car did most of the hard work for him.
lol, yeah sure thing.raymondu999 wrote:Hey djos, do you mind combining your replies to other posts in just one post? It's kind of annoying to see 6 or 7 posts by you straight in a row here...
none taken.raymondu999 wrote:No offense meant mate... just that it was kind of annoying. Thanks for understanding
Back on topic now.
Honestly I've always been a Vettel fan since he just waltzed Formula BMW. This scene of favoritism talk hasn't actually done much to my opinion of Vettel, but it has to RBR. Vettel should move to a more experienced team, such as Ferrari/McLaren/Williams. I seriously feel the way that RBR is doing favoritism, or appears to be doing so to Vettel, is stunting his growth and development as a driver. He'd become a much more complete and better driver just by moving to a different team.
Similarly with Webber, he too should move on to another team. It seems they have no intention of helping him either.
Im not sure what the last half of your final sentence means but in answer to the 1st half, in Aussie racing parlance a journey man is some one who is of average talent and has been around for a while without accomplishing anything of note and is unlikely to redress this.Giblet wrote:In Australia, if you are a carpenter and not done your apprenticeship, you are considered a journeyman. In North America, when you complete your apprenticeship, you are a journeyman, ie a full carpenter. Polar opposites.
A friend of mine had difficulty getting work here until he realized the overseas terminology change.
Can you clarify for me what context the word is for you, or was my friend an idjit?
If you go back through the Turkey thread I think you'll find it was proven that before the team told Seb to turn his engine back up Webber, Vettel and Hamilton where all doing comparable times and Seb was in no danger from Hamilton as the MacMercs where going into fuel saving mode at around the same time as the bulls.proutyc wrote:I think Turkey had different reasons. There Vettel was the meat in the sandwich. RBR needed to maximise points and they were at risk with Webber's lack of speed.
You are correct about we'll see, as Horner's comments about managing a TEAM and having to make difficult decisions, if true then when Webber is leading the WDC he's the lead of the team. (If I recall even MS, played second fiddle to Irvine one year) If this is not the case, the media will take him to task about not managing a team but managing the 'number one driver' individual.
Then I'd struggle to see how this outcome would not do damage to the RBR brand in some way in the eye of its supporters and maybe minority sponsors.
I'll take what you've said on board Ciro but "bollocks" = foul language??? I think this may be a translation thing as in Aus/UK this is not an insult or foul language, it's just slang for "you're wrong".Ciro Pabón wrote:djos, you edited your comment, good. I do not threaten people, but, please, don't do it again: I'm back and I'm not permissive towards foul language, not because of morals but because you make us, members, look bad.
If I might say so, you could make your point with subtlety: it's easy (and rewarding). What about "your post should be in the family jewels drawer", instead of "bollocks"?. "Your post could be smarter" sounds much better than "You are stupid". I'm sure you already know that, you've been around for a while.
So, your posts could be smarter (blink, blink).
