comeon ..no reason to attack valued forum contributors ..
Sometimes, races are sponsored or supported by commercial companies, who can supply drinks etc.We dont know why DC had a can of Red Bull in his hand. It may have been deliberate, or it may hae been given to him by one of the series sponsors, namely Red Bull.

Surely the fact that DC has dropped RB from his overalls, and from his helmet, indicates that he does not ave Red Bull as a personal sponsor. He may still be an ambassador for them in F1, but this doesn't mean that this job strays into other series.

Do I take it that you do not consider me a "valued forum contributor". That makes me so sad!

Oh sorry no offenses towards you ... that was surely not my intention!

On the RedBull side ..I know from personal hands on experience that REDBULL does position its product with useful celebrities ...so 100% id Coulthard has a can of RB in his hand that is no coincidence.
check there:

Why on earth should RedBull post some random crap on their GERMAN website about Mr.Coulthard when he was only drinking out of their bottle by chance..?
so for me that personal sponsorship is a fact.

If its a truckload of Cans or free flights or other incentives or a paycheck ,we do not know of course and will not know.

Gilgen,

I do consider you a valuable member of this forum, and I´m sure Marcus does the same.
At the end of the day it does not matter all that much, D.C. , Red Bull and Mercedes will know what they are up to. Red Bull is not a Series Sponsor of the DTM, and D.C. has still Red Bull logos on his helmet, and has logos of the Red Bull charity Wings of Life on his overall, so I would venture so far, and call Red Bull a personal sponsor of him.
Do draw any conclussions from that in regards to the FI, RBR engine situation is, why not impossible, maybe a very long shot.

My statement was in response to segedunum ""Red Bull is definitely not on his overalls as a personal sponsor."" comment.
And I thought that my question, as what one would call that sort of presence on the personal items of an driver, was made in a respectful manner.
I did not intended to offend anyone here, was just a bit surprised by your comment towards me.
As I think, that the photos are in line with my argument.

All I know is that Mecedez wants the winning German boy Vettel to drive their engines. In terms of personal sponsorship I think RedBull also sponsors a non RedBull Racing driver.. I think it is Chandok (?)

Thanks 747. I would just like to add, that "wings for life" is a charity set up by Masechitz, and is a charity doing excellent work. As far as I am aware, it is NEVER used to promote Red Bull, and is supported by a lot of the drivers, and others NOT connected with the organisation.

fair enough, thanks for the additional facts,
that leaves the the logos on the helmet, and the public use of the drink bottle.
But maybe D.C. just uses up it´s old gear, because he does not want to buy any new helmet.
and from my side I will leave it as this, it´s a FI vs. RBR engine swap thread, not about if D.C. has or does not have still RB sponsoring.
Let´s move on - no harm done.

After watching the FI cars pass the Mercedes and give as good as they got to the Ferarris, they will not give up the FO108X Mercedes without a fight.

Goodness me, I didn't think this DC business would get that far out of hand.

It was just a suprise to me that DC was racing in DTM with Mercedes, still had his capacity has Red Bull's ambassador or whatever, still had his Red Bull style overalls and not his team colours as well as the Red Bull adornments on his helmet.

It shouldn't really mean anything but motorsport is generally silly and childish when it comes to various companies' logos appearing side-by-side with others. Just an observation.

I don't really see how Mercedes and Red Bull brands are rivals. Not enough cup holders in the latest S-class?

Iv just shot over this last page and is there really a discussion about DC not having redbull as a personal sponsor? Really?

The guy still works for the RBR F1 team, he carrys around a Reb Bull drink bottle and has a massive Red Bull logo on his helmet.

And if all that was not enough the proof is in the pudding, we are talking about DC and Red Bull. The sponsorship is working.
