Sutil is not overrated, the only problem last year was that his talents were bigger than the car could handle. Now he has a car with higher limits, he driving pretty solidly, nothing between him and Kubica atm.

Sutil is like a cheap Kubica, only faster and not overrated too!

Buemi is very good that's all i have to say. Solid driver who is doing pretty well as a team leader.
Sutil is faster than Kubica? Kubica is overrated? How on earth can you make a comparison? The closest you could get, is looking at where they were in the start of this season and where they are now. The cars where equal, would'nt you agree? Who performed better? We both know the answer to that. Who's made the biggest progress with his engineers since then? I'm not even going to start counting points. Sutil is not outperforming the car, neither did he last year, if so, then Fisichella must be the best driver of all times!;)

I agree Donuts. Kubica over Sutil any day.
Plus, Kubica has improved throughout the course of the year.
I Kovalainen would be a good choice too IMO, I like what he is doing at Lotus!

Based on the salaries:

Vettel + Sutil

That's an easy one, JV and Jarno Trulli, a WDC and a Monaco-winner, they would both drive for free if the car was decent, while the team would please us old geezers no end!

Franckly, I think Lotus is not a good example to use for a team with limited drivers budget. They are spending 5M EUR on their drivers! :o That's waaaay too much. To compare, that is almost as much as Red Bull's driver budget of 6.2M . Their drivers budget should be in around the Virgin, Toro Rosso & Force India range. With the extra funds to improve their cars, they might make it into Q2.

Ha ha i was trolling, but i kinda mean it.
I was waiting for you to jump in.
Yes i believe Sutil is possibly faster than Kubica. There's no proof for or against it. But judging Kubica against Heidfeld, Robert is not on another level.
The Renault is a better car than the FI and always was, Kubica is good and i rate him highly, but i rate Sutil as a driver just as much. Sutil has done well against all his teammates, clearly showing he's better than all of them and has also displayed fast and exciting driving in the wet and he's a better overtaker this year too.
Kubica was not clearly better than Heidfeld and I haven't seen much from him this year is regards to exciting driving and overtaking. He's done well to get the most out of his car, but he's like a Jenson Button to me; consistent and get's the job done but he's not exciting. He's fun to watch on a street circuit though.

Sutil also seems to be a better marketing personality, a guy who can bring in money to a small team. He always has something interesting to say and seems more enthusiastic than Robert.

I'd pick Vettel + Sutil, best value for money if you look at the current standings.

First of all, Kubica has always had Heidfeldt as his teammate, Sutil has had Christijan Albers, Markus Winkelhock, Sakon Yamamoto, Giancarlo Fisichella and Vitantonio Liuzzi. In neither case, except for Vitantoni Liuzzi, has he had "the better of his teammate". I would say that Adrian Sutil would not have the better of Nick Heidfeldt. Robert Kubica has been in a german team with a german co-driver, that was obvious in 2008. He had the right to be less enthusiastic in 2009. There has been no reason for spectacular overtakings, beacuse he has qualified where he should. There's been nothing he could do against the Red Bull's, the Ferrari's and the McLaren's. There is one exception, that was the first race of the season, when Adrian Sutil drove straight into him, after that he made a lot of spectacular overtakings, especially the one on Pedro de la Rosa! Sutil is really good at boasting, he does that a lot, but he forgets that he has to deliver. Having Vitantoni Liuzzi as a team mate, makes it easy!;) We probably need a new thread for this...

kubica had the upper hand on Heidfeld?
In one of the three years in 2008 to be exact ,yes .that´s one of three....at least in my crude maths.
to me the two were quite evenly matched.

2007 was Kubica's rookie year(you might argue), in both 2008 and 2009 Kubica outqualified Heideldt with 13-5 and 11-6. 2008 Kubica showed what he could do with a competitive car, Nick did'nt. Let's not forget what happened, that BMW-Sauber F1 decided to stop development of the car even tough Kubica was leading the WDC halfway thru the season. He was not a "happy camper", but managed to finish equal on point with Raikkonen. 2009, what can you cay, it was "russian roulette" with that car, the points tell you that if comparing with qualifying positions. I'm not even going to start with who had the biggest share of bad luck, but remember Australia and a reckless Vettel earning his name!;) Cheers!

Let's drop the Australia 2009 thing. It was more of a 50-50 situation. Vettel didn't give way, but Kubi didn't give enough room either. And Nick could've won Canada, had it not been for synchronised swimming with BMW letting Kubi (on the lighter strategy) through. If I remember correctly Kubi only came out just ahead of Heidfeld after his 2nd stop

Right, so why did Vettel apologise? I think being two seconds slower or even more if I remember correclty he should just have let him pass, but no. Could/would/should arguments, Kubica would have won in Australia if not for Vettel.;) Allright, now I'm going to give it a break.

They're racing. If you are able to keep a faster car behind you, and it can bag you a couple of extra points, you wouldn't do that?

And IF is F1 backwards.
