I get tired of the humble "he's just a laid back guy like me" drivers. They all need to get their asses kicked; pretending like they don't give a damn.
They'll bitch and whine when things get out of control just like everyone else. Don't be fooled by the coolness.
Kubica's wild driving is probably his inner self, if Petrov gets a little more consistent, Kubica will lose it.

I don't buy that Bob is very quick either. There is no proof. Sutil is probably faster than him.

Kube is no quicker than Heidfeld. Sutil beat fisichella as teammate, who is no slouch. It's safe to say Sutil has more speed credibility than Robert.

Petrov will beat Kubica on speed next year. Write it down!!! 8)
To me, Hamilton saying Kubica is the guy to fear pace wise is proof enough. The fact that he outpaced in qualifying Heidfeld, who is also very quick, speaks volumes. There is no evidence to support a fragile ego on Kubica, or evidence he is slow. Everything points to the contrary.

Total: 2007 - 2009
Points: Heidfeld 140-121
Race finishes: Heidfeld 28-23
Qualifying: Kubica 28-23

The stats show who is quicker (RK), and who brings the bacon home more often(NH). Funny how Kubica is demand across the board in F1, and Heidfeld can't get a seat or keep one.

I'll put a fiver down with you as a gentleman's bet with you. Kubica will beat Petrov handily, but not embarrassingly.

Look what Kobayashi did to heidfeld and then superimpose that with Kubica against Nick, though to be fair to nick, his engines were weaker and he was still getting used to the tyres and car.

Kubica is in my top 5 but there is no evidence to suggest that he is super quick.
There is more evidence to suggest that Sutil maybe quicker than him, based on the teammates. Fisichella is pretty good, better than any of Kube's partners.

The fact that Kubica can be out qualified by a rookie is enough to suggest he's not bullet proof like Alonso or Hamilton. His pace doesn't look special when petrov gets things right.
He's very good but very highly overrated. He is enjoying an F1 career with mediocre and rookie teammates.
I like his driving style though and approach to racing, but i just want him to be under pressure in 2011 just out of curiosity.

I can bet Petrov beats him after the first 6 races, but i wont bet on him being beaten over the season. I'm not that blind; Kubica is very good, i just know from his record against Heidfeld that he's not untouchable. Petrov knows the tracks now and may have a string of good races against Ricky Bobby.
For Sure!!

Did petrov not race in most the circuits in gp2?
So he will have had experience of most if not all the tracks?

I'm hoping if Schumacher does call it a day in 2011 after the first 6
Races, that mercedes gp have the Cajones to take on kobayashi-sauber permitting.

When kubica was going against heidfeld he was still in his rookie season, then his first full season etc. Heidfeld was the experienced journeyman and not able to beat him handidly. This speaks volumes as well.

Petrov out qualifying kubica a mere two times means little.

Anything can happen but a guy who is known for keeping his cool will not unlikely just uncoil.

I'm surprised at the results of the poll. I do rate Kubica very highly. He's young, fast, intelligent and Polish (I'm 50% Pole). However. Nico went head-to-head with Schumi and came out well ahead (and I have always been a Schu fan -- despite his frequent, regretable transgressions!).

And Hamilton managed to equal Alonso (who would have blown Heidfeld away) in his first season, and became World Champion in only his second season!

Kubica is a talented driver and in the right car could be a serious threat, but to say he is the class of the field or impressed the most in 2010...?!

Both drivers at Mclaren were new, there was no incumbent. Testing helped both drivers though. Kubica got to do very little testing with the Renault, and still did very well.

That's the polls opinion, not mine. While I think he does great in every situation, Renault was more impressive in relation to him. They had some of the best and meaningful development.

Rosberg got my vote actually. He impressed me the most.

First of all to all who claim that petrov was supossedly that far better than Kubica in Hungary, You must have seen completely different Qualy and Race... In Qually RK lost by 0.099s to VP in Q3, because of brilliant tactics of Renault, letting him out with under 3mins to go and into heavy traffic. In race, RK lost it due to collision with Sutil. So Hungary myth is busted i think ;)
In Abu Dhabi Renault had some serious issues with Roberts car, which they were unable to pinpoint. Even Boulier said either on friday, saturday and even sunday - if You were looking closely to how his car behaved You would have noticed that something was terribly wrong there - sliding and getting on power so much later than VP's R30.
Finally it all sumed up to positions RK - VP: 11-10 in Qually and 5-6 in Race, so VP managed to beat RK only in qualy and only by 1 place. RK did not get that outclassed to me, as someone mentioned earlier.

To emphasise on raw speed difference between RK and VP, the Qually positions in 2010:

Bahrain 9 17 time comparison (Q2) 1’54.963 (-1.656) 1’56.619
Australia 9 18 time comparison (Q1) 1’25.588 (-0.883) 1’26.471
Malaysia 6 11 time comparison (Q2) 1’46.951 (-1.809) 1’48.760
China 8 14 time comparison (Q2) 1’35.550 (-0.761) 1’36.311
Spain 7 19 time comparison (Q2) 1’21.599 (-0.54) 1’22.139
Monaco 2 14 time comparison (Q2) 1’14.549 (-1.027) 1’15.576
Turkey 7 9 time comparison (Q3) 1’27.039 (-0.391) 1’27.430
Canada 8 14 time comparison (Q2) 1’15.682 (-1.162) 1’16.844
Europe 6 10 time comparison (Q3) 1’38.137 (-0.386) 1’38.523
Britain 6 15 time comparison (Q2) 1’31.344 (-0.452) 1’31.796
Germany 7 13 time comparison (Q2) 1’14.835 (-0.472) 1’15.307
Hungary 8 7 time comparison (Q3) 1’21.328 (+0.099) 1’21.229
Belgium 3 23
Italy 9 20 time comparison (Q2) 1’22.880 (-0.939) 1’23.819
Singapore 8 12 time comparison (Q2) 1’46.949 (-1.216) 1’48.165
Japan 3 13 time comparison (Q2) 1’32.042 (-0.38) 1’32.422
Korea 8 20 time comparison (Q2) 1’37.179 (-0.62) 1’37.799
Brasil 7 10 time comparison (Q3) 1’16.552 (-1.104) 1’17.656
Abu Dhabi 11 10 time comparison (Q2) 1’40.780 (+0.122) s1’40.658

Notice, the time comparisons in most cases were made in Q2, with RK on primes and not pushing it to the limit.
It looks like solid ass kicking to me! So Ringo, really want to make that bet?
Some say, that in Monaco, SPA and Suzuka, car doesn't mean that much and driver can make some places with his skills. RK qualified on 2, 3 and 3 on these tracks. I quess thats quite a raw pace marker, isn't it?

And he can't spell. But as he's probably Spanish we can't hold that against him.

It's always funny when 'anti-fans' call a driver a loser (or "looser" in this case) and that driver is very obviously a winner

Looking at further videos linked from this one, there are people who seem intent on trying to 'dis' Hamilton. I'm not sure whether to sympathise with, or laugh at, people who waste their lives putting such things together...

Robert Kubica by miles. In a car outdated and off the pace scoring 4 podiums and mixing it with the top teams shows how much he needs a top car because if 2011 car R31 is a top car he could be winning races.

The crane incident led to a "rule clarification" following complaints from other, less thinking, drivers. It wasn't cheating at the time.
