Compromises... for them probably the tiny increment of the MOI around roll axis is well worth the gained stiffness in the engine – gearbox coupling.
Furthermore Honda, contrarily to Renault, has a carbon case and that leads to different choices in term of structural design. If you look at the Honda gearbox you’ll see that mounting points for engine and suspensions are on a metallic insert on the upper sides of the case :

To that you have to add the always existing differences related to the fact that different people and different teams have different experiences, background and methods, in most of things there isn’t The Right solution, just what you believe will be the best compromise.
