Very cool, thanks for the link. Sadly, here on the East Coast of the United States, qualifying and the race are in the middle of the night and my advanced age prohibits me from being able to stay awake to watch them. I will check the radar before going to bed so that I can dream about Melbourne, maybe in the rain, with KERS and DRS and new cars and all the wonderful things that can go bump in the night, err, daylight.
Oh, come now. I'm 63, I'll work 10-11 hours tomorrow, grab a bottle of George Dickel bourbon on the way home and then watch the race, starting at 0100 locsal time. You'll be dead forever. Enjoy F1 now.

As the Pirellis don't rubber the track, Does that mean the track won't go much faster, other than cleaning up the track?

I love the shots of the cars coming out of the corners with the rear wing wide open and the car sideways. Alonso especially.

Interesting that there's 8 and a half tenths between Vettel and Webber.

Webber was 6/10 of sec off Vettel just in the last sector so I don't think he did a perfect lap...

he was 0.8 seconds slower too when both were on hards. And 0.037 slower when Vettel was on hards and Webber on softs. Which is why I was thinking maybe Webber didn't use DRS/KERS or something

They want to let cars start from the pitlane that dont make the 107% rule time. In the case of HRT, being 17 seconds off the pace thats plain madness, isnt it?

Just for reference:

Last year's pole: Vettel 1.23.919

That's 6 tents more than last year. I don't know if in Vettel's lap he used all his kers and used drs all along the circuit. Somehow I thought there would be a greater margin
Come back 747, we miss you!!
